Question 30K service?

I will be bringing my car in for service very soon. I'll have about 30,000 miles then. I guess I will need some kinda major service done on my truck. According to my sister it's gonna cost something like $400. Is that a joke? If not, do I really need to get the major service done? Is there any other way to go around this?
Thanks.

About the only thing you should need to do is have the coolant, and the transmision fluids flushed and changed, and a new trans filter. Maybee change the oil if you haven't done it lately.
These trucks have a 100,000 mile tunup interval.
