Hey! They copied the Lincoln Continental. They're similar to the doors on my uncle's old '64 Continental. They were called "suicide doors," if I'm not mistaken.

C'mon guys - it's the first noticeable body style change GM has made in years! At least we know they still have "design engineers" working there, even if they are about 4-5 years old! I'm talking the engineers here!
To me, it looks like they took our F series truck style, cut off any sleek curves & were left with this! Either that or someone was playing around with a big cardboard box, cut the sides away & presto! The monster we see here! I personally CAN'T WAIT to see 1 driven around here so I can pull up to it at a light, look over, shake my head & LAUGH so hard I'll need a rubber seat cover!
Wonder if they will change their "Like a Rock" slogan to something like "HIT by a rock" now! LMSS! At least we can be thankful FORD isn't doing something like this - it would make me reconsider owning 1!!!!!

Yes Dennis - they are called "suicide doors" & in this case it makes sense. Anyone with even a modicum of taste who had to ride in this would want to jump out & commit suicide! Is this REALLY going to be a PRODUCTION vehicle? Do they REALLY expect to SELL these or are they going to donate them to organizations for raffles? I know I wouldn't buy a ticket! I wouldn't even be able to give it away if I won it!

I know what's wrong with it. After careful consideration, I've decided that the reason we don't like it are the wheels. They don't fit the look of the tr(whatever the heck it is). I think square wheels would make this thing perfect.

 

Nasty!!!!!!It does look like it ran into a big flat rock.The nose is just about as areodynamic as a brick.

Have any of you seen the Nissan Alpha-T?
