Gee guys - I don't know - it's pretty honest IMHO. I mean it's stupid & only a brain-challenged person would believe it BUT then again, I think I've just acurrately described the typical Chevy buyer! So it seems to me that the commercial fits the group who would buy it!

Okay - now I will apologize. I guess all the Ford bashing has gotten to me & I needed to blow off some steam. Now that I have done that, I will say that it is a ridiculous commercial. I enjoy it for comic relief only! There has been a Ford ad or 2 that was equally silly (the tough steak 1 comes to mind!) so it must be the "nature of the beast" that millions of $ are spent to insult our intelligence! Besides - for me the selling point is how good looking a guy they have! From what I've seen Ford has the best looking & I heard they ONLY use real Ford owners! Guys - that's a COMPLIMENT! A "Thanks Cowlady" would be nice! LOL!

I think I saw that commerical, is it the one where the shovie tries to catch the Ford, but never can...or is that the road runner and coyote...I can't remember in my old age. I guess it doesn't matter the coyote will never catch the road runner, and the shovie will never catch the Ford!

ok might as well fess up, my girlfriend has one of the vitaras.
actually it's not that bad, wouldn't trade my truck for it but it's perfect for her needs. plus it has 4wd for snow around here,
this year i even took it out in the woods deer hunting a couple of times. it did just fine getting out there. not as easily as my truck but didn't cost as much for fuel either.
besides i got her to sell her chev p/u for it. at least it doesn't say chev. tried to talk her into the expy but she didn't want a ford. now however after i finally got her to ride in an expy she can't wait until trade in time. she wants her expy.

>>>>I'd have to agree with eph1fifty. The Tracker/Vitara is actually quite capable as an offroader. My wife was wanting one back in 1993 so we bought a two door softop as a second vehicle. I took it offroading lots of times and that little SUV would do great. It lacked in ground clearance and dragged in some of the deeper ruts but it just kept on going. On snow covered and especially icey roads it did superbly. I would have to say to this day that it ranks as maybe the best vehicle I've ever driven on an icey/snow covered highway for maintaining excellent traction. It lacked some in the get up and go department, so it's lack of power may have contributed to aiding in great traction. To top it off the little SUV got 28 mpg. If I was looking for a daily beater to travel in bad weather back and forth to work I'd look for a used Tracker or Vitara. Suzuki really designed a nice little SUV there, with Chevy putting their badge on it, but Suzuki deserves the credit.
