Last I heard, Ford was planning to redesign the Expedition and the F-150 for the 2003 model, so expect pictures next year and trucks in late 2002. Also, I heard that the powerstroke diesel would be available in the Expys and maybe a Screw too!!

From what I've read, Ford is working on a "baby PowerStroke," six cylinder instead of the eight in the current PowerStroker. I wonder if this is the motor that will be in the F-150's?

Fords also got a 6.0 liter desil that's supposed to replace the 7.3. It's supposed to be lighter, cheaper, put out better performance, get metter MPGs, and be more reliable than the 7.3. That's just what I've read, though.

I've hit blueovalnews.com pretty hard. The thing that kinda stinks about them is they haven't replied to emails about the article on the V6 baby diesel.

As far as the cosmetic redo where did you (Bigworm) hear for sure that they were going to redesign the F150 for 03? Any URLs you can share?

There are quite a few pics floating around on the ScubaCrew, the insert is definitely an improvement- but conservative. If Ford introduces the F150 with a hybrid design between the current body style and SuperDuties along with this 400ft lbs torque V6 diesel, daaaaannnngg!

I also hope they offer a version that'll compete with the Dodge Ram Off-Roadster- I am NOT a Dodge fan, but that short-bed extra-cab cummins 4x4 with the auto tranny is a pretty nice looking truck for the 6600-8000gvw (light 3/4ton) market. Sits nice too.

And, just because you've braved my long post, here's a site I frequent:
http://www.wieck.com/public/index.html
-type in "Scuba" into search field 1, and you can see the Scuba SuperCrew at the bottom. Search for "Triton", and you'll get some of the original concepts of both the F150 and SuperDuty...

Please share any sources for photos of ANY redesigns!

All I've heard is rumors, but the rumor around work here is that the Mustang is going to Flat Rock in 03, and the new assembly plant that they're building is going to be making the new trucks... Nothing official, but they've already started construction on the new building where the Dearborn Glass Plant used to be, so something's going on over here....

Question

I just had a thought about Ford's concepts...Ford has had a track record of unveiling concepts a year (or so) prior to their release (look at the PowerForce, Triton, Thunderbird, etc). That being the case- Does anyone think that the 2003 F-150 might be based off of the Equator concept?

Check out these articles...
http://www.autoworld.com/news/ford/ford_equator.htm
http://www.motortrend.com/autoshows/...k/fordequ.html

I know they're saying this could be Ford's answer to the Hummer H1, H2. . .but what do you think?

I'm going to the Ford Employee Preview this Sunday for the 2001 Detroit International Auto Show Preview... I get to see it before the press! No pix allowed, though, so I'll see what info I can glean from the models, and maybe even get some truck info while I'm at it. ;-)
