Who watches Junk Yard Wars?
Tonight are the finals for Junk Yard Wars on TLC at 9:00 and 10:00 EST. Check out this website http://tlc.discovery.com/tlcpages/ju.../junkyard.html
There are two 3-person teams who must build something out of scrap from a junkyard in 10 hours and then compete. Here is tonights schedule:
Fire Boat — In the championship match, the two surviving teams see who can build a boat that will go across a lake and put out a fire in a burning building. One team builds a Land-Rover-based fireboat with an amazing pump, but their boat is less maneuverable than they'd like. The other team's pump is not as strong, and their boat keeps taking on water.
Dec. 27, 2000 9 p.m. and midnight ET/PT
Dragster — Drag racing. Nothing gets a Junkyard Warrior's blood stirring like sheer speed. In this special match-up, the Season 3 champs go up against last year's winner to see who can go as fast as possible while staying on the ground. The Season 3 champs go for a classic dragster car, but when their gearbox blows up, they have to flip the back axle upside down, making reverse gear push the car forward. Last year's winners go for a trike, which increases the possible speed, but takes much more precision to build.
Dec. 27, 2000 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. ET/PT
The new American version of the show is beginning on January 3, 2001 and they will be building hot rods!!
Check it out...thought a bunch of gear heads would love this sort of thing.

I've seen one of those before. They're pretty cool to watch. The one I saw was the one where they have to demolish 3 buildings.

Very cool show. I personally liked the episodes where they had to make submarines and the one where they made missile launchers! Perfect for those of us who like to get our hands dirty!

I watch the show Religiously. The show Kicks A$$. The fact that people can make something out of all the junk is amazing. Too bad we don't have a show like that here in the states. I have a hard time trying to figure out the metric and all the British stuff. Maybe one of us F150 guys can get a show started or something! Just an idea!
Yeah lets do our own junkyard wars Chevy vs. Ford. I'll put $100 on us to win. Course the Chevy boys will have more scrap to work with and all cause we know all our Fords are still on the road. We'll let Raoul drive whatever we make.

I love this show. I don't know if I could do the tasks, but I sure as hell had some better ideas on how to do things.
The Americans and their centrifugal pump would have done much better if they had used their "jet drive" at or below the water surface instead of up high like they did.
