Question Model differences

Please excuse my ignorance! What are the differences between the XLT and Lariats?
Thanks, Dennis.

I think the Lariat just has the Leather and some different stripes/stickers. They've varied so much throughout the model years it's hard to tell.

The 2000 and 2001 XLT do not have the keypad in the door. It is basically the leather interior, wheels, front grill, and a few other options. The sport package is not offered for the Lariat (2001* sales brochure).

The 5.4 is half price if you get the Lariat.

Lariat also has trim upgrades: color-keyed front bumper trim and side mirrors (instead of chrome), signal mirrors, and fender flares.

Someone else will have to show you an XLT but, that's my 99 lariat in my sig. Pretty much stock. What I really want to get for it are some bigger tires but, I can't seem to find any on the keyboard.

So what standard toys come in the XLT? My reason for this post is that I would like to install the keypad on the door. I'm not the original owner of the vehicle so I do not know if it came with remote door locks. I would then need to purchase and install used a RAP module. When I installed a remote entry/start I found the required relays allready in the door. The previous owner REMOVED the remote entry/start kit! (There is an aftermarket keypad kit at 12voltshop.com I may consider, but I prefer "factory") TIA, Dennis
