Hunting
Nice crossbow! Mind me asking what a rig like that would set a guy back? We have a lot of deer hunting areas around here that are shotgun only but the season is only one, maybe, two weeks long. Bow hunting seasons on the other hand are 3 to 4 months long. I've been thinking about a cross bow and yours is a beaut. For big game I use a Browning A Bolt with BOSS (too loud)chambered in 300 Winchester Magnum. I usually chamber Federal Premium 200 grain boat tail soft point bullets. It has a 7 inch drop at 300 yards with enough enery left to knock down a house, not that that's what we are aiming at :-). Those 200 grain bullets totally outperform similar 180 grain bullets after 200 yards.

Down here for these South Texas brutes, I use a Remington 700 BDL-DM 7mm magnum; all stainless with a composite stock and a muzzle break. Also has a Leupold III 4-12x40 scope mounted on it with dual dove tail mouts. I shoot Remington 150 grain premier ballistic tip bullets. Really gets the ears to ring.

jamden1 you might want to check with the DNR. Hunting with a crossbow might be illegal. I think here in Iowa you can't hunt with a crossbow, unless you have a medical permit. If thats the case you're limited to bows only. By the way I use

Powerstroke73. Crossbows are legal up here as long as they have a minimum of 120 lbs. Whitetail deer will never cease to amaze me! My hunting partner and myself took a nice 8 pointer on the second day of the shotgun only season (you can't be in the bush bowhunting during the shotgun or gun seasons). While butchering it we found a broadhead and about 5 inches of aluminum arrow shaft embedded in it's ribs right along the back. Obviously from last season or longer. I think it was a combination of bad shot placement and not enough power.
My weapon of choice is a PSE Thunderbolt LC, micro-adjust launcher style overdraw, RS glow sight, 7" X-Ring stabilizer, Spider Legs on the string, Limb Savers, Game Tracker carbon express 300's tipped with 100 grain Thunder Heads and launched with a Lil' Goose release. This setup chrono's at 263 fps.
When I want to "reach out and touch someone." I use a Remington 700 BDL in .270 Winchester, bedded in a H-S Precision stock, topped with a 50mm Leupold 3X9 Vari-X II. I tailor my own loads using Winchester cases, Federal primers, Reloader 22 powder, and 130 grain Nosler Partitions (North Carolina deer size). Or if I really want to mess with my buddies on the target range I'll switch to Nosler Ballistic Tips. I can get within .750" moa groups with those on a decent day. All this is set off with a Timney trigger and a titanium speedlock kit with a heavy spring. This setup averages a little more than 3000 fps.

Down here in Alabama for deer, I use a remington 700 bdl .270 130 grain bullet (sometimes 150) with a 3x9x50 tasco world class scope on there ( i know it is a crappy scope but my leupold hasnt come in yet ). I also have a remington 700 adl in a .270 and it is synthetic...both very excellent guns and would recommend them to anyone.
Its illegal in Texas to hunt with a cross bow, but that is a nice piece of equipment.
silent and deadly.
Ill stick with NITROX, I like the 454 Casull.
Ihave the Ruger 454. Havent had a hog run off yet! One shot stop....big time! You guys outa try one out sometime, its intensly lethal on big game.
