Hunting
Depends on what, and where.
East Texas hogs in close brush get hit with my old Russian SKS. At the ranges I am going to hit a hog at in the overly thick brush of east / south Texas, the SKS is more than enough to hit em where I want, put em down, and keep them there.
For Deer in Central / West Texas out at the deer lease, I use one of the following.
Remmington 710 chambered in .270 with a BSA Contender 6x24-40 ruggedized scope (I don't see the model I have in the catalog any more).
Remmington 710 chambered in .308, fitted with a made by me, American Black Walnut thumbhole stock, and the same model BSA Contender scope as the .270 (I am still working on the stock).
Things that rattle their tails, or fly see the business end of my old Mossberg model 500.
