It can be done ... here is one link... http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=57352 - there are other links with the same results. From all that I have read on this subject ... as long as you can find the right ics install file, it works. How well does it work? I will let you know later. Bottom line is if it does not work, I take it back and find one that will.

For the price it cost $0.00, what do I have to loose?

We can talk in our basement with our Sprint phones, but you have to go outside with AT&T.
Just so you know and whoever else, my friend has the same problem with service in his house so he set up his phone to do call forwarding when he is home and now it transfers to his home phone.

This of course only works if you have a landline...which I do not.

The latest 3.0 OS allows you to do this...or what I was reading it seemed that way. They added alot of stuff that was not currently there in this update.

I iPhone sucks sack if you want a REAL smartphone. If you are just in it to have a trendy device that works good enough for basic communication and information storage, go for it.

Apple will release the 3.0 iPhone software in the coming months... and they are FINALLY entering the 80s with cut-and-paste capability, and the 90s with MMS capability. The iJoke is finally catching up a bit. Maybe in a couple years it will turn into a real smartphone... we'll see.

Copy and paste would be a nice to have, but it hasn't changed the fact that my iPhone is the best phone I've ever had. It does everything I want it to, and as far as the internet browsing experience goes, it's second to none.

The cut and paste feature is definitely one thing I miss from my Treo 700P. Best phone I ever had...

Hey, with 17 million folks around the globe owning one its obviously a decent product. However, it really is just an entry-level smartphone. There are insanely better products out there depending on what you actually want to do with the phone and how efficient you want to be.

Just a quick follow up... I received the Omnia late this afternoon and already have internet sharing working over the Omnia's WiFi ... After using the iPhone for a year, Mobile Windows does blow as much as it use too. But at least I do not have to worry about dropped calls on AT&T networks and I can utilize the Verizon internet connection for my Apple Products (any where, any time and without cables.)

I believe that Apple could make the iPhone the best smartphone out there, at any moment. However, if they beat everyone in one fell swoop, what next? They would have no reason to keep trying things. They clearly know what people want/need, as they've sold 17 million of these little buggers thus far (in just shy of 2 years).

As far as ease of use and style, nothing comes close to the iPhone. Nothing.

The only things I would like to see added are MS Office and iWork native apps. That would truly make the device a clear HR in my opinion.

Are you serious? The best smartphone? HA! Apple will never get Windows Mobile 6.1 which is by far the best OS and with the Opera browser coming along it won't take much to surpass the Safari browser maybe the next Opera update. iphone needs to have MS Office like you said, expandable memory, faster processor, hell you name it. The only reason they've sold so much is because there weren't many to go around so everyone thought they were great since didn't even have any. Hell the iphone was one of the last phones to get 3G...some r&d department they have. I disagree when people call it a smart phone cause it's not, it's a multimedia phone and it does that very good but a smart phone it is not! iphone will never be a serious contender for a smart phone because it is a toy, you play games on toys, you listen to music on toys but you don't to business that way. Apple computers are a good example cause their all multimedia machines meant for users who aren't savy in the electronics world. Granted their hassle free and easy to use but their not work horses like windows pc's are. You can barely upgrade if at all and their geared towards the old since their not computer smart and geared towards the young since their brain washed by MTV and reality shows. Sounds kind of like the iphone.

^^ LOL. I was going to reply to TRQ's post but figured why bother... anyone that delusional about the iPhone wouldn't get it.
