97-03 supercabs, and car seats...
Holy CRAP! theres no room for little Abby with her car seat i got from wally, it kinda makes me sad cause it only appears to be going to get worse as she gets bigger and i love my truck even though i have a car that will suit the vast majority of the trips with her.
is there any low or thin profile seats made for the back seat of a extended cab? i'd like to have her be more comfortable this year when i take er up to priest lake to learn how to swim and have some fun in the boat.
i just need something to make it better for those few years until she's big enough to either ride in the back seat or the front.

Good luck with that bro! I had an '01 scab when we had my youngest and I feel your pain. We put him in the center and he would prop his feet up on the fold down console. It worked for ahwile when he was an infant but when he got bigger we had to put him to the side and have my wife sit against the dash damn near with the seat all the way forward. I looked around for a different seat but really couldnt find anything that would work very well. Sorry Im not really any help. Again, good luck!
Wow, what a timely occasion to post this thread. My wife just found out she is pregnant (about 6 weeks long) and I have a 2000 scab.
Was hoping to hold on to the ole girl for a little while longer!
Jeep Grand Cherokee here I come?
Anyone else have any issues with child seats and a scab?

i have a 3 week old. i get his carseat in the backseat. a rear facing carseat will fit in the rear center seat with the front center seat folded down to a armrest. you have to to pull the recline lever on the front seat and push the back of the front seat forward to get the car seat in there. if you want i can take pictures tonight when i get home from work. but it will fix
hey klitch, my daughter was 3 months old when I parked my supercab; but the car seat fit in the middle of the back without issues using the above mentioned lean the seat forward to get the babyseat in
my buddy here in Germnay has a '98 supercab and he uses an "eddie bauer" (I'l get more info tomorrow) car seat and it fits in the center
maybe time to upgrade to one of these:

it works and has plenty of room for the dog in back and it will accept the lightning supercharger swap

we're at foreward facing stage now, her feet are basically touching the back of the seats, actually make that her knees lol.
im seriously considering a screw cab, chopping and lengthening the frame so i can keep my full short bed and haul my camper still lol.

We just flipped ours around to foward facing and its much better than the rear facing seat was. I have the captain chairs and console so I think that helps alot too with room in the center. It would be very tight when she gets bigger if the seat was in either of the side positions vs the center.
Yep, that's why I had to trade in my 2000 F150 4 years ago. 2 kids in booster seats, and they couldn't fit. My wife was driving the truck most of the time, as I was taking her car out of town frequently for business. Ended up trading it in on a Saturn Vue. Traded that in after 3 years on an 07 Honda Odyssey. I'm back in a 99 F150 after driving a Jetta TDI and Accord 5 speed for my part time job. Quit the part time job, Now back to F150!

I've had my '99 Supercab since it was new. My two kids are 7 and 5 years old, and in booster seasts now. I've transported them both in car seats numerous times since they were born. The only time it was tight was with the newborn rear facing seats. Had to put them in the middle and raise the console. Other than that, no problems and it never crossed my mind to sell the truck.
sellings not the option, modification is! lol chop and lenghten the frame and squeeze the screw cab in there. sounds perfect! lol
so its not so bad after they start hitting booster seats? sounds like i might be able to ride it out, she's heading for 2 years old now this oct.

Well with my last 98 supercab and my current 03 supercab, I've had a booster seat in each. As long as the front passenger and fold down seats aren't moved back all the way, my 2 year old can fit back there with no problems. She has approx. 6-8 inches of space for her little feet. But with the center console down her feet sit below the folded down portion.
I have a 06 F-150 Super Cab (rear doors open backwards) and the regular car seats fit fine. All I've done is slide the seat forward a little at a time when my girl started kicking it, lol
I also prefer taking some adjustable crib toys with us, which easily fit the baby car seat. We've got several items from this list: https://www.best-pack-n-play.com/crib-toys/
