OOPS. I killed thumper!
Well riding the Motorcycle last night (truck was clean and resting for a trip this weekend) I ran over a rabbit. Man it sucks being on a bike and hitting a animal. You accually feel it. Something you dont feel in a truck.
Yes Thumper is dead. Almost broke my fairing to my bike. Glad that thing died. Dont messup my *****

Guy I know, lives about a mile from me, hit something bigger, a deer, at highway speed on a new Yamaha cruiser (An Interstate? Are they still making those?).
Anyway, he set out for the Yukon Territory in early July to see friends, leaving from Orléans, near Ottawa. Got as far as Hwy 17 other side of Pembroke, Ontario, not very far really, not even to Northern Ontario.
He's recovering nicely from lots of bone breaks but nothing else major. The deer, unfortunately, met his maker. And the bike's got major damage.
Count yourself lucky, I guess, White Knight, that it was a bunny you hit and not something bigger. Still, bunny guts and all, yuk!

I smacked a ground hog last weekend. He was a big gooey creature. My chocolate lab won't stay away from the drivers side wheel well anymore. She smells the goodness that's still up in there. lol

Heard of a guy hitting a goose on a motorcycle once. It was flying across the road as he sped by at 45 mph. Whop! knocked him off and brused him up real good. timing is everything. Fabio, the guy that looks a lot like me
,was only on a roller coaster.
I once hit a male Cardinal (the bird) with my truck. I traveled along for several more mile, saddened by the fact that I had denied some poor little "peeps" with ever knowing their Daddy. Came to a stop light and low and behold he flies away off my grill. Only thing I can figure was he turned and tried to fly away just at the last minute and got pinned against the grill by the force of the wind. And when I stopped he was free! A miracle truely! Don't know if he found his way back home or not though. I like to think so.

I always get a kick out of the times I catch spiders on my windshield in the morning when going to work. You start getting up to around 40mph or so, and they start shifting their bodies into low gear and hug your glass. Funny how they almost never blow off. Feel bad for them tho. One minute they're in the country, and the next thing they know, they're parked in a paylot in an urban asphault jungle stocked with Peregrine Falcons atop the high rises. Lunch. lol.

I, too, hit a deer a number of years ago up in Connecticut. It was late at night, he came out of the middle of nowhere, I evaded, he took off my right side mirror, stumbled a bit and ran off. I never dropped the bike, which was an '86 VF500 Interceptor, which was about bicycle sized to me!
You guys are a menace to the animal world!! Just kidding...how was the stew???

Killed two German Shepards in my parents 3/4 Ton going up north to go fishing...whole truck bounced, and then the boat did as well...that was three years ago, and we are still finding hair from those dogs....They committed suicide though, they ran out when I went to pass a car, and all I saw was two black flashes followed by the truck bouncing.

A few years ago I cut a deer in half with my Z-28 doing about 90 on a backroad in Georgia. Luckily the top was up because half of the animal went over the roof while the lower half proceeded to make very loud crunching noises as it passed beneath me. I could feel it thump the floor board under my feet a couple times. It's eyes seemed to stare at me as the upper half rolled over the windshield. Before the tow truck even got there two local boys in a beat up Chevy pulled over and asked if they could have the meat! After I got the car back from the shop I was checking out the repairs and found bloody patches of hair still stuck to the oil pan. Sorry Bambi!
