Talking Fuelprices down at last.

There was a new record here on New Years Day.
Our government added 2 more cents tax to our fuelprices,70 % is more than enough I think.
Euro 95 unleaded 2.38 guilder per liter.
US dollar=2.17 dutch guilder
Can$=1.47 dutch guilder

4.16 $ per gallon
1.62 Can$ per liter.

Premium 98 even 2.50 guilder per liter

4.36 $ per gallon
1.70 Can$ per liter

Yesterday Shell dropped prices with 5 cents to 2.33 guilder per liter.
US dollar went down too, to 2.14 dutch guilder.

Euro 95 unleaded

4.12 $ per gallon
1.59 Can$ per liter

This will not last long,I am afraid.

Cool

Hi F150Europe,
I'm glad to see your fuel prices have come down. After seeing what you pay for a liter I will not complain again about $1.30 per US gallon. Do you really pay 70% tax?? Wow that has gotta hurt.
take care,

Wow, reminds me of when I lived in Sweden, same deal, around $4 US per gallon.
On the other hand, at least you can get 95 unleaded, I assume the 98 is still leaded, and the best we can do is 92/93 and in the winter they mess with the formulas and it detonates like heck with performance chips.
If it makes you feel any better, we can buy unleaded "racing" gas here that is about 100 octane I think but it costs $4 a gallon too.

Bill,

Yes premium 98 is still leaded.
But we have premium plus 98 too.
The lead in this fuel has been replaced with something else.Don't know what.

Hi Redwing,

Yes 70% tax on fuel.Outrageous.
Our government want to have less cars in our country.(Pollution is the keyword they say,but I know it is the money they are after.)
Well no matter how high prices are going to be,everyone keeps driving. In 1999 there was a record on carsales again. There is only one laughing here and you don't want to know what plans they have to reduce traffic.
So redwing, you are better off in your Holland!!

Our transportsector is complaining like hell about the diesel prices.A lot of them go bankrupt because they can't compete with other countries in Europe.
Well, the french truckdrivers are going to strike on Monday because of the diesel prices. They will block the french borders on some places.I am not happy with that,it could influence the prices for my products.

F150Europe,

I you care to move to the other "Holland", you'd be the only one here happy with $1.38 per US gal.

Take care,

Redwing

F150 Europe - Prices on Vancouver Island stay fairly steady @ .64.9 liter for 87, right now. Will sometimes jump thru summer - Just plain CROOKS - no reason. From time to time a little "WAR" breaks out & they drop to the high 50's - not often though. Costs me about $52.00 Can. for a tank full (light on)and I thought WE had it bad, compaired to US prices.
I "feel" for you - at those prices!!!!

F150Europe,

Prices tend to be somewhat stable for the most part...nothing like what you are experiencing. I know fuel was VERY expensive in Germany when I was stationed there in 91-94.

Prices for regular 87 Octane here in Columbus Georgia (USA) are as low as $1.15 per gallon. I beleieve the Premium is at $1.34 per gallon.

I just heard on the news this morning that oil prices are the highest than they have been since the Gulf War, which means that gas prices will start going up pretty soon. Joy.

Take care,
