Hiya Mike! Hows it goin? My summer is goin great. How about you?

 

I went to the site Silver Bullet listed, and it is not very accurate at all, it generally shows speed considerably faster than on any other speed test I've seen. The fastest transfer rate I've seen with DirecPC is about 460 kbps, but the first time I ran this test mentioned here, I got a speed of 580 kbps, whic I never get anywhere else, so I think it's a bit optimistic.

Mediaone Road Runner cable modem is giving me 981 kbps (updated with new figure). The downside is sometimes it slows down if too many people get on the line. Most of the time it works good though

Using that Computing Central, I can tell you that those numbers you got are too rounded and arent your real speed. Clear your cache then repost what you got.
