Sorry about the long delay! Ouch! At least I know not to stop at Minar for service now that they are just up the road from my new office! We had decent luck getting service at Saxon Ford in St. Paul, but the service hours suck! That was where the truck came from, so we kept taking it there. Now we go to Apple Valley Ford and have had good luck and long hours too! Hope it gets done soon!

Angry Slow Dealerships.....

Just thought that I would advise anyone in Minnesota and Wisconsin, to avoid Minar Ford Dealership at all costs. Just had my truck in to have the new engine installed, after waiting 6 weeks for the engine...dropped the truck off on 6/26 for it to be installed...drove past the dealership on 6/27, truck still sitting outside and hadn't moved....So I call the dealership to find out the status of my truck on 6/28 and they tell me that I will have it back by that Friday for the long 4th of July weekend....guess what, no truck, and I am still waiting. The truck has now been sitting there in the shop with the old engine still in the truck as of Monday, and I was told that I would have it back no later than today (7/5/00)...we will see about that happening. I have figured it out that it has been in the shop for a total of 48 working hours, and it still isn't done...just wondering where the mechanics have their heads, not to mention their hands....just voicing my frustration with that dealership....should have learned after the first time that the engine was rebuilt due to the "oil leak plague." Don't know if this is happening because it is under warranty and there is no rush to get it done or what.......If you feel the same way about a dealership, let people know about it here....

I went through the same BS'ing from my dealer here when I had my truck getting about $11,000 worth of body work done. They had it 2.5 months. But, every week, it was supposed to be done. So I called them EVERYDAY sometime twice, until they went insane. **** Ruhl Ford in Columbus, OH. Not sure about their service, but body shop was the worst. They even pulled out the stamping plant boiler explosion in MI a couple years ago as a reason for the delay, when that plant produced Mustang parts. That's what I get for buying to vehicles from them. I hate being lied to. There should be a permanent dealer sh*t list on this site :0

Thumbs down

Gopher-
Thanks for the warning about Saxon, I have to find a different dealership to bring it to if something else goes wrong while still under warranty. Which with the luck I have had with this truck will be a few more times...lol.
I can also say that Tousley Ford is no better about service, as my buddy's 99 F150 was in for service before the 36,000 mile mark, and had them look at the arm rest, and it took them a 6 days to get the arm rest because of a stripped out nut, and something with the vacuum in the 4x4.....Must not be out to rush service when it is under warranty....
Going to be really PO'ed if my truck isn't done today....going to be calling in a little bit to find out what is going on!!!!

Well, finally got my truck back last night, 7/6/00 after being in the shop for a week and a half, and they still didn't get time to look at the brakes on the truck, but I told them that I will just take it else where to have the brakes looked at.....Just wanted my truck back in my possesion.

Sorry to hear they took so long to fix your truck I must be lucky the longest the dealership I use ever had a car or truck of mine was overnight and that was because they didn't have the part so they had one shiped up from Memphis and it was done before noon the next day and I didn't even buy it from them and I got that kind of service this truck is the first vehicle I bought from them because they finaly gave me a good deal other wise I would have done like before and gone down to Memphis to buy and have the local dealer fix it if it ever needed it.

I've heard nothing but good about Apple Valley Ford. I think I'll visit them when it comes time for a new one. I recieved the same run a round from Minar. Ya drop your truck off when THEY tell ya to and a couple days later they haven't touched it and every time you call they say it will be finished that evening.
