Cool Went off-roading, got stuck, see pics...

Well earlier this morning an old friend of mine that I hadn't seen in a while called me up to see if I wanted to do some muddin with him, so I said what the heck. He has a new Dodge 4x4, but I want hold that against him We went to this place that I have never been to, but was kinda close to my house. Well anyway we hung out there gettin muddy for a good hour, and in that time I got big stuck. There was a pretty steep hill that I thought I could make up, and I wanted to try since my buddy was to chicken to go up. So I tried, everything was fine, til I got to the top, and the truck just stopped. I have learned that when goin up a hill to let of the gas near the top so you don't just nose over and crash down, so I took it easy, and that was a no no. Truck got high centered, and couldn't go anywhere, front tires were spinnin, and so were the rears. So thank goodness my buddy was with me to get me out. I know I know, a Dodge pulled me out, but I was just happy he was there, or I would have been really screwed. Cause I know dad wasn't gonna be too thrilled to come get me out. Well anyway, here are some pics of today, they are pretty good I think. Tell me what you think of them.

Here is where I was stuck:

Here's my bud pullin me off:

On my way down:

All this rain that we have been gettin turned this into nasty soupy mud:

Think you could try that one:

And of course, the fun part

But I had fun, even though a Dodge did pull me out.

Looks like those nerf bars might have saved you from some possible body damage.... Did this happen before getting muddy? I sure hope so from that tiny bit of mud...

Take it easy...

Yeah, all my tires were clogged in mud, but I don't think that mattered. The nurfs were barely touchin the ground, it got hung on that cross member under the truck, but didn't hurt it any. Hey, I got into some good stuff, but the hills out there were fun to play on, but not the one I got hung on. There was a couple spots that I didn't wanna try, maybe another day, and more trucks, and nasty shoes. Some of the spots had to much brush, and scartches are a no no.

Now that you know what that hill is like, let's see some pics of you catching some air off it! An extra 15 or 20 mph should do the trick.

MN99F150-1,

You know what's funny, I was thinkin about that when I got stuck and took the pics. I said to myself that you were gonna like these pics and appreciate me gettin muddy I told my bud in the Dodge that all my F150 friends are gonna like these. See, always thinkin about my buddies

MrScot,

Yeah, I even walked up the hill first before I went up to make sure it was ok, and it looked fine. I thought about it for a second if I was gonna get hung or not, so I just went for it. Oh well, didn't hurt anything atleast. Next time I guess I will just put the hammer down.

I will mud sometimes as long as I have another truck with me, or know that there are plenty of trees for me to winch too. Maybe someday we will have a big central rally where some of the 4x4 guys can go off-road, what a day that would be.

Taht would be alot of fun, and The Dept of The Interior's worst nightmare I've got a hill I go up all the time that's just straight up and about two truck lengths. You get at the bottom, and line up, all you see is sky and the phrase "god speed John Glen" comes to mind. I need to get a pic of me launching into orbit. Going down the hill, the phrase "holy lord" comes to mind many more times. It brings me much pleasure seing my Jeep buddies I run with fail getting up it. It was nice seeing your truck playing again. I was afriad it got caught up running with the "show crowd" lol

Please change the heading on that picture to say something like "see me pullin that Dodge up this hill" -- you're embarassing me (you got more guts than me -- my 4x4 will never have that much fun).

Jim

You know mudder, the same thing happened to me about 2 weeks ago. Got high centered on this area of ground that looked like snow ski moguls and had NO business going there without a second truck. Have you ever endulge in the "spirits" a little too much and drive places you really shouldn't? Thank god this was a friends private property. It was raining. I was stuck. Had to walk back to get the F250. I was so up on this hill, you couldn't open the passenger door, or mine. Had to slip out the windows. Busted my hitch cover off the back. And 3.5 hours later, I'm getting yanked off this hill, pitch black in time rolling back down the hill and rear ended the truck with my rear end. The F250 has an agricultre bumber and hitch. Mine's pretty, shiney, and weak. Had to take it off and pound the dents out lol. Oh, I'm just counting down the days til my next adventure in stupidity.

Mudder-
Nice pics, and looks like a lot of fun. Looks like someone beat me to asking about the "show truck thing", but everyone has to get a lil' muddy now and then. Nothing wrong with putting on the good old protective layer of mud. I like the idea of a central rally, that would be great, and you could count me in on that one!!!!
