i'm only 22, got my tattoos(2 of em) when i was 20 and i don't regret either of them and i dont ever see myself regretting them because they both have alot of meaning to me.

one is on my forearm and it hurt a little bit but nothing serious
the other is on my upper arm and it hurt a little more but again nothing horrible.

even the worst spots(like the ribcage) may be painful but i don't think it's the kind of pain that will make you go screaming from the room....

i know quite alot of people with tattoos but I don't know anyone who regrets getting their tattoos.

I think as long as it actually has meaning you won't regret it. To make it more meaningful you can have the artist actually draw something up that is specifically for you instead of getting something they have in a book..

Im 23 and have a full sleeve...PLEASE!!! Do your homework on the artist. there is so much trashy work going around and it looks terrible! You get what you pay for with tattoos..Not to mention you have to live with it forever. 2 years and still No regrets here. Its a part of who I am now!

You notice most of the regret stories is a bunch of old timers...Tattoos have come along way since then!

Thats the thing I don't want to regret it once i become an old timer. See the friend that passed away he had a cross and initials on the cross of one of his closer "girl" friends that died in a car crash and i really liked it. The thing is i have a few tattooo parlors here in town and they are all gothic like places. A guy like me would be double looked at if i went into one of those places. I think I'm still going to wait untill school is out and summer is closer before I make a decision. I want one but I don't want to regret it later down the road. And i don't think i will with it symbolizing jesus and a friend who's passed..i just have yet to find a cross i really really like to get..

Best advice I've ever heard was from a guy who said to find something that you really like and want. Then wait a full year. After that year, if you're still in love with that tattoo then get it; chances are though you'll have been long over it.

If you Pick something off the wall than more than likely you will regret it! Make sure it means something.. I wrote down everything on a piece of paper and the artist drew it all out, Of course he added a few of his own pieces to fill up space. Im not a fan of a tattoos just randomly placed. I like full pieces w/ lots of color and shading. hoping to start my other sleeve here before to long

See we're on two different pages. I'm not a fan of colored tattoo's. If i get one i want a black only tattoo but not with a lot of white skin showing like i don't just want an outline of a cross then be done. I want some design to it but not color in there just straight black.

Look online at different designs. There are thousands of variations of crosses, I will be getting mine done as two old rustic iron nails. With good shading a black/grey tattoo looks just as good as a tattoo with color IMO.

And me personally, I have a rule for my tattoo's. No names, none what so ever .

Here is mine, there is no actual red in it just freshly done haha.

Tattoo's dont feel good I promise ya that, but its one of those pains thats standable. I have two and I would love to get about 20 more, but who knows maybe one day. If I had a blank arm to do it all over again, I would go big half sleeve and be done with it. Colaboration of tribal artworks from around the globe and possibly a few additions in it.

In my opinion a women with a tattoo across her ribcage, something that flows well is HOT! Very tasteful and elegant yikes!!

my chest, right upper arm, and right leg are covered in tattoos.

do i regret them? no.

i regret not having the time to get more work done, as some are unfinished.

i think these days its rare to find someone without a tattoo.

i got mine so if im wearing pants and a t-shirt you cant see any tattoos.

yours should be hidden as well.

i think your choice is one you wont regret.

now if you wanted to get a girls name, or a zombie head, or swastika i would try to talk you out of it, but if it means something to you, and isnt something socially unacceptable, and its in a good spot, go for it

my friend just got hers done a couple weeks ago and it's really nice. it was her first tattoo..she said it hurt quite a bit but was totally worth it

and i completely agree with the guy above about finding a GOOD shop to do it. My brother has 2 tattoos that are "ok" and then two that are great and you can totally tell the difference between the work.

when he was getting his 3rd tattoo he was going to go into some crappy tattoo parlor and didn't want to listen to me about finding a quality shop until he walked in and realized that he didn't want someone with a dirty shop doing any tattoos on him....we drove a little farther and found a really nice shop with artists that have won alot of awards and stuff...they did pretty sweet work.

i dont have any pics of his crappier tattoo.

(sorry not the best pics)
this was done free hand

I'm 28 and have 3 tattoos. Got the first one at 17, then 18 then 19. I don't regret a single one because they have meaning for me. I think that's the key, it needs to mean something to you, otherwise you might end up regretting it.

Do you regret getting your tatoo?
How much pain was it?
Would you do it again?

I'm wanting to get a cross tatoo on my upper left back (basically my shoulder blade) I want it to where you can see it when i wear a sleevless shirt. But that isn't my reasoning behind thinking about getting one. I want to get one for two reasons. I want to get one to show my faith toward Jesus, and to honor a friend who passed a week ago. I just want to know if some of the middle aged group regrets getting a tatoo at their age now. I mean i'm 19 so i'm still young i just dont want to regret it 20 years later but idk that i will you know it signalfies Jesus and my friend, how could i regret it. I just cant find a good not so simple but not so gothic cross i like.
I'm 38 and:

Somewhat
Not bad
Absolutely not

I'm not going to get into the whole "The Body is Gods Temple" thing but if you are a religious person and want to express your faith for god then don't do it through a tat. Just my opinion.

You already have doubts about, so I say dont do it. I have 3 and the only one I dont like is the first one I got when I was 17. Also they have a certian type of ink that you can get them to use that will allow removal of it with one laser treatment. Of course it is much more expenisve. By the way I'm 31, not sure what middle aged is....we can go anytime so you in actuality can be middle aged.

Also as far as the pain that is associated with getting one. Its like someone is sticking you with a very hot needle. It's more of an annoyance than a pain.
