Cool

Mudder, while you're at it, send a picture to the Three Mile Island Chamber of Commerce so they can see if your truck glows brighter than their power plant. <vbeg>

Hey Mudder,
I got two on now. I love the look. But aren't they supposed to sealed lights? I washed the truck last night and noticed water in the reflector. The last KCs I had never leaked. What should I do?

Spargo2,

Yes, I believe they are supposed to be sealed. I think water has gotten in mine too maybe, I wouldn't worry, it's not gonna hurt them any. I wash mine with a strong power washer, haven't had a problem. Glad you got them put on, have you turned em on yet? How did ya like it?

mudder, I sure like your truck. I just found two sealed beam, 150 watt (165?) bulbs in a trunk in my closet. Ten years ago, they were on a CJ7 I bought. They didn't work, (must have been a bad fuse or relay) so I pulled them off That's great because I still have 'em!! I'm pretty sure they're KCs.
Put them on a pwr supply at work. It would only push them to about 11 amps at 10 volts. We figure 14+ volts would be 150 or more watts They're awesome outside using a 12 volt cordless drill battery! I want some kind of tasteful, small bar to mount them in front of the grill. Any ideas?

Thanks, I really enjoy them. I'm not sure about the mount. I have seen some before where people just mount them directly to the bumper, but I really don't like that look. I have also seen guys put them behind their grill. You don't have a grill guard do you? I was gonna say that if you did I could make you a bar like I made for mine. A few of my buddies on here liked mine so much that they wanted me to make one for them.

I think...I know that these are best off-road lights avaliable. Since they are the brightest and shine the farthest than any other off-road light out there. If PIAA or Hella or whatever was better or brighter than I would have 10 of those lights on my truck. I only wanna put the best on my truck, and that is what I did. That is the way I look at it.

When I was pickin up my other two lights the other day from the off-road store, the guy at the counter said "don't blind anybody now". I just looked at him with a grin and said "well man, I can pretty much do that now". He just smiled and said "yeah, I saw that, that is crazy, I'll make sure to stay behind you on the road". I think it's pretty funny myself.

Here's the bracket that I made:

Ok, got my new lights mounted today. Had to make some brackets first, but the rest was easy.

I'll get more pics, and some upclose ones when it stops rainin here. The lights are pretty neat.

Here are the other pics, finally quit rainin long enough for me to snap a few more:

What do you think about the bracket? That was my dads genious thinkin, it just bolts to a hole that was already there on the Manik.

Need to go get some covers that match. They screwed me on the covers, they were supposed to come with white on black, but I was gonna go get some vinyl ones anyway. The cool thing is, that there is room left for me to add 2 more 5x7's directly under those, thinkin about some 55 watts so I can actually have some lights that I can have on the road legally.

Oh yeah, they are pretty bright. They are from their Long Range series, 100 watt, 167,000 candle power. Nowhere near the power of my daylighters but still bright enough to where I can't use them on the road. They can project up to 1 1/2 miles, and that's pretty good. I haven't had a chance to try them out yet, since it's been rainin. Tomorrow night I'm gonna get out and see how they are, I'm excited.

Looks great Mudder!! All I can say is - Oh Hell Yea!!

Just a thought, run a piece of that flat stock steel across where you have it and mount two more 5x7 in the middle of the other two.

Looks great.

If it looks good
you'll see it
If it sounds good
you'll hear it
If it's marketed right
you'll buy it
But..if it's real
you'll feel it

I have those Baja lights that I haven't mounted yet. I'm gonna put them on sometime, but not gonna worry about it right now. Maybe in the future we will do something involving KC's facin the rear, but for now I'm still workin on the front. Gotta get a new battery first.
