As vocaire said, get a motorcycle. I have one and I've saved lots in gas by riding it back and forth to work whenever possible. I drive 35 miles one way to work, 70 miles a day plus whatever other driving I do is a killer on the pocket book when gas is this high but I wouldn't trade the truck for anything! Good luck. . . Be strong. . . Don't let us down!!!!!
eph1fifty,
Take a deep breath, count to '10' and look out the window at your beautiful truck...Now, what were you saying about trade-ins?
I've had my (used) '92 4x4 for six months now, and I'm seriously considering buying a cheap beater compact car for commuting, and using the truck only for hauling or long trips.
vocaire and ZRacer, you're right on about motorcycles, provided the area in which you live has good weather.

eph1fifty, there is only one good solution to your problem. A motorcycle. I have one, and I ride all the time ('cept when it rains). This helps me keep costs down in the gas area (I get ~50 mpg on the bike, so that brings my average mileage between the two to around 25-28 mpg with the proper split). Anyway, I only paid $2000 for my bike, which is much less than the $4k you were willing to lose, and the insurance is like $200 per year. If you wanna drive a truck, but save in the long run, a motorcycle is completely the way to go.

Seriously if you were really worried about gas mileage then why did you buy a truck in the first place. Heck I dont even check my mileage nor will i ever. If i cared about that i would have bought a YUGO or something and not a truck. I personally get frustrated when people buy a truck and then complain about its gas mileage. I mean hello what did you expect.

Since I bought my truck fuel prices went up 40% and will soon double. Taxes are going up too around here, plus the french government are trying harder and harder to get rid of english people here so I want to get the F out of this quebec province even if it means loosing everything!!!!!!!!
But my NerdzFX should be started soon in ontario anyway - once its going strong I will move there hehehe!!
O.K about my truck, yes its so damn sweet! I managed to borrow a Ford Focus for a week for the feel and see if it really would save me money. Well the verdict is as follows: My truck costs between 10 and 20 dollars more per week in fuel (which is really nothing - it costs pratically 10 bucks just to eat at McDonalds anyway). Now with the difference in cost of insurance and payments, I think I would save around 150 dollars per month (not much for the difference in which the type of vehicles are being compared). I will find out for sure after going to the dealership!
At least this time I'm doing this right and will know for sure so this means NO MORE BITCHIN FROM ME about this

I will let you all know later on... Now I feel kind of ashamed for posting these little fits of mine. Think before you speak, thanks dad I know
