This is a pretty Sweet Site!

This Bill may not be so Bad!

I can see why Caterpillar would start production again...

This does help explain how it's 2,000 pages as well...
Americas Watchtower-President Obama Lied About Rehiring Employees if the Stimulus Passed

Caterpiller would start production again, eventually. Eventually.

Infrastructure projects are usually paid for with money that does or will at some point exsist. These projects are a gamble. I'm not in favor of gambeling because a losing bet is to the detriment of the American people.

Right from your own link

"Barack Obama has said time and time again (please, look it up) that the economy is going to get worse before it gets better, and that things are not going to look up before at least 2010. The CEO of Caterpiller was asked if passing the stimulus package would immediately allow them to rehire workers, and the CEO said that it wouldn’t happen until around 2010, just like the president. However, the CEO of Caterpiller said that it would be the stimulus package that would help lead to this upturn, exactly as the president has said."

The CEO of Caterpillar said NOTHING that contradicted what Obama has been saying, or said about Caterpillar. Unbelievable.

If only Obama had an (R) next to his name, then you would be all for 1.2 trillion dollars worth of tax cuts leading to a huge deficit and 800 billion dollars to rebuild a country that is not your own. Now that the government wants to spend money here, all of a sudden, conservatives are worried about the deficit.

The CEO said in response to the stimulus plan allowing him to rehire workers, "reality is we'll probably have to have more lay offs before we start hiring again."

I saw the video, how does it contradict what Obama said? Obama said that EVENTUALLY SOME of the people laid of could be rehired. In the background, Obama has always said it will get worse before it get's better, he didn't say the day after the package flies everyone gets rehired. No one has said the package would work over night.

Obama acts as if laid off workers have never gotten recalled back to work before.

The CEO said something that contradicts what people heard Obama say. You know that as well as I do, if you're paying attention. We all know that Obama is a skilled orator. He's good at saying things to the people to lead them to believe something that is not. False hope. What the CEO said was the reality of the situation.

You voted for Obama, right? But you're obviously not interested in bipartizenship. You seem to feel qualified to tell other people what they'd do, say or think in a given senario. How have you become qualified to make these determinations? I'm not so sure that you're paying attention to what the people you claim to know what they think, are saying.

Maybe if you got further from the beltway you'd get a better idea what's actually happening in this country. There's a whole wide world out here, beyond the city limits.

This is pretty funny coming from a guy accusing me of feeling qualified, but I live outside of the beltway and spend little time in the city. Perhaps you should take your own advice and spend more time in the city, away from what you are familiar with. There is a whole wide world out there.

I see no contradiction, if you'd like to point it out, I'd be happy to see it.

LOL. Only a liberal could try and find something positive to say about this bill. Especially when the 10 previous posters pointed out how terrible it truly is.

Keep on drinking that "CHANGE" kool-aid...

He's jockying for being able to take credit for all those workers that come back to work for Catepillar. They will be a part of the 3 million SAVED or created jobs.

No contradiction? I'm certian that I'm not the only one who sees it.

ABC News-D'oh! Caterpillar CEO Contradicts President on Whether Stimulus Will Allow Him to Re-Hire Laid Off Workers

Your Heart Of Illinois-Cat CEO contradicts Obama on jobs

Actually, I'm aware that you live outside the beltway. The beltway would be I95, technically. You are in an area were there are a lot of people who work within the beltway. It's quite a bit different from this side of the state where most of us don't have much Boston influence.

When I go into Boston it's generally for relaxation and recreation. It's much different than out this way. It' much different than a lot of places in New England that I've been to. It's different like NYC is different. It's seems like people from these big cities think that the world revolves around their city. They don't seem to be aware of just how much is beyond the city limits.

It was a stretch to say that you live within the belt way, I'll admit that. You know though that reletively speaking you're just a hop, a skip and a jump from being in the heart of the big city we call Boston. To a lot of us out here in the rest of the state, I495 is the cut off for Boston. You're just outside of that. You're a lot closer than a whole lot of people in this state.

I'd spend more time away from what I'm familliar with, but Boston is similar to what I'm familliar with, only bigger. I live in a city. The difference is the level of liberal vitriol.

Correction:
These projects are not part of the stimulus bill. They are candidates for funding by federal grant programs once the bill passes. Learn more by reading the FAQs.

sorry for not reading it closer. i was going thru emails having a few drinks when i got it. made sense then.

still is amazing that there are so many imaginative ways to waste our money.

most of us will not see any of it since we go to work every day and provide for ourselves.
