Whadda ya know, another problem with the Tundra. And here they are bragging about durability and how tough they are

But it has 381 HP and will blow any other truck off the road, so it's ok...

I wonder if over in the Tundra forums anybody ever posts bad things about Ford trucks? Not that anything (like spark plugs blowing out of '97-'98's or door cracks on '97-'99's or spark plugs that wont come out of '04-'05's, or ...) ever goes wrong with ours due to poor design. Nah.

To the original op I am sorry I don't know much about those trucks because I was never interested in them. However I have a friend that owns one I will ask him about it the next time I see him. He might know something. Sorry this turned into another FORDS the best thread. Don't get me wrong I love my Ford and would never ever sell it for another truck.

OK, but compared to snapping camshafts, f'd tranny's and folding sheet metal, these things are considered minor details. Seriously, at least get the foundation right and they couldn't even do that. It was and is a slapped together design they threw out quick and are piles of crap.

It is funny they call it Tundrasolutions.com not something else, good call.

One more for ya, all other companies do tests with JUST their trucks, like Dodges jumping hills in the desert, Tundra's accelerating and braking under calculated courses. Why is it that Ford compares all to theirs? Ford has tons of tests by all kinds of media critics and testers? Because they can.

at least my ford doesn't have a frame w/ a huge deflection rate, or sheet metal that mysteriously buckles, or a trans/transfer case that grenades for no reason. i'd rather pull the heads for a spark plug blowout than replace an entire frame anyday.

I'm an equal opportunity discriminator; 13 years of working on vehicles professionally has done that to me.

They're all junk, IMO.

Absolutley, I'd agree in that they're either all junk, or maybe more correctly, all equally bad or good. The thing many folks don't seem to understand is that for every video Ford puts together showing how (insert name of competitor's truck) does poorly against a Ford, the other guys have similar videos (used for sales training) showing how their trucks are better than the Ford. If any one truck was so clearly superior in all areas, why would anybody buy anything else? Even though Ford sells more pickups than anybody else, the competition still sells a hell of a lot of trucks to other folks who are perfectly happy.

The rest of the truck may be crap, but the wheels sure are high quality haha. (I'm an engineer at the company that makes the wheels for the Tundra).
