Post 2001 F-150 changes announced

The best selling F150 will receive plenty of enhancements for 2001 that will push it ahead of the competition. First, the 4.6L will get a badly needed 20 horsepower increase. The brake system is also upgraded with 4 wheel ABS.

MODELS:
Work series will be dropped and replaced by an option (772) which will delete certain content from the XL model. The new option will make dual map lights, door map pockets, XL steering wheel and underhood light standard.


EXTERIOR CHANGES:
Colors added: Dark Highland Green Metallic, Arizona Beige Metallic
Colors deleted: Amazon Green, Harvest Gold
Gray wheel lip moldings replace black on 4x4


INTERIOR CHANGES:
Added trim: dark graphite on XL vinyl bench and cloth bench seats
Delete trim: dark denim blue
Restrictions: medium graphite no available on XL bench seats
Carpet delete available on Lariat
Child seat tethers standard
Carpeted and monogrammed floor mats standard on XLT; includes front and rear on Supercab
Single CD with premium sound standard on XLT
AM/FM cassette replaces stereo on XL
Dual lighted visor vanity mirrors standard on XLT
Remote keyless entry standard on XLT
Color keyed and leather wrapped steering wheel standard on XLT


ENGINE CHANGES:
Increased 240 horsepower 4.6L Trition engine


FUNCTIONAL CHANGES:
4 wheel antilock brakes are standard on XL, XLT, Lariat


NEW OPTIONS:
Work truck option - deletions from XL: replaces front chrome front and rear bumpers with argent, replaces chrome grille surrounded with storm gray, replaces chrome wheel hub ornament with argent, replaces standard cloth bench seat with vinyl.



REVISED OPTIONS:
XL carpeting option (168) now includes color keyed carpeted floor mats (incl. rear on SuperCabs)
XL convenience group now excludes overhead console

Some nice changes. I also wish I had the leather wheel on my XLT.

So where are the rear seat headrests?

Black 2000 SC short-box XLT. 4.2V-6, 5-speed, 3.55 limited-slip. CD, remote entry, factory side steps, FORD box liner.

My third F-series: '73 F-100 Custom 240-cube 3-speed, '98 F-150 XL-SC 4.2 5-speed, and '00 F-150 XLT-SC 4.2 5-speed. GREAT trucks!

It looks like I bought mine a year to soon 20 more horses and the leather wrapped steering wheel are the 2 things I'm missing on my truck that I wish I had.
