i have a pair of dr. martens. there from the industrial line with steel toe. i have had them for a year and they have held up great. probly gonna purchase a new pair soon, but these are still in great shop and are really comfortable. for kicks and giggles i had my friend drive over the toe to see if it would hold up to the weight and they didn't even change shape. ofcourse i didn't keep my foot in the boot when i did the test

I do construction as well, I had some timberland pros a couple years ago, lasted 4 months, horrible boots, and they werent at all waterproof. I bought some rockys with goretex waterproofing right after them, and I had one pair last me almost 2 years and just got my second pair. They are comfortable and they last very long. The waterproofing is also excellent, as long as the water doesnt get in through the part around your leg, your feet will always be dry

These are what I use. Not construction but use them to walk through the wood while cutting trees and other activities at the cabin. They have held up well and are a good price. Also have laces all the ways up so their nice and tight.

Those Dr. Martens arent H2O proof. I had a pair. BUT THEY WERE EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE. I put 3 coats of silicon on them and they still leaked. I had a pair of Georgia boots. Not quite as comfortable. I recently got some Rocky boots and the steel toe portion feels a little tight. (I ordered them online b/c no store around me carried the ones I wanted) However, no complaints otherwise. fairly comfortable, water proof, eletrical hazard proof, petroleum/ slip resistant sole.

I love my Timberland pros... lasted me years.

If I were to look at another brand, it would probably be Chippewa.

i have walked thru mud and water on trails when hooking up tow straps, mud wrestled in swampish water/mud (yes with girls ) and walk thru those deep puddles in the parking lot cuz im to lazy to go around and never had a problem with my feet getting wet, but im sure if your standing in just water your feet will get wet, but i have not had a problem as far as my feet getting wet so i cant say anything bad about them

I walked into the work shoe store and asked for the most comfortable pair of boots there. And they are.

I have the interior metatarsal boots. These, I think.

And work paid for them.

Guess I should say, when I'm working for myself, my work boots are a pair of boots I got on sale at Walmart for $10. Had them for 3 years now and they've been awesome. Not steel toe, but still are good boots.

I've had several pair of Timberlands and they usually last a year. And that's wearing them daily as a dress shoe. I have a pair of Wolverines now and they are a much better built boot.

just picked up some Danners Quarry 2.0's with goretex liner. nice boot, very comfy, soles can be a little more iffy footed on oil+concrete than i expected. they do well though on expanded steel platforms, dirt/mud, and just fine on concrete for me. im sure you've got your favorite oil already for your leathers.

lets just say, i like my danners so much, its all i have excluding my sandals for summer fun.
