Post 2000 Two-Tone Paint.

I am kind of affraid to ask this. Does the two-tone paint on the 2000 XLT go over the wheel wells? I thought that it did but I have only been able to find two-tone on lariats. Anyone have pictures of Two-Tone on a 2000 XLT?

Also has anyone else noticed a low supply of F150's @ the dealerships? The dealerships in my area used to have about 10 F-150 each but last time I went they only had 1 or 2 each.

Hope this helps, mine is a 99 but I don't think they've changed, same colors as yours, deep wedgewood blue and silver.

Cr1028: Thanks for the reply. Is your 4x4? I checked the F150 brochure & it says:
"Color-keyed wheel openings (XLT 4x4; Lariat 4x2/4x4)" Standard on XLT & Lariat but it doesn't say if it gets the two tone or the standard color =]. Does that picture do the paint job justice or does it look better than that?

If Cr1028 (isn't that a size of watch battery?) doesn't have a 4x4 anyone else have an answer for this? I'm not sure I like the looks of it without the colored wheel wells. And my order should be locked in any day now.

Regarding the low supply: my dealer told me that the truck drivers were on strike a while back. Maybe they still are and that's why the stock is low. OR, maybe they were all bought up! :Þ

For 2000 as well as previous years I believe, the wheel well moulding matches the lower bodyside color for XLT 4x4 only as well as all Lariets.

Basically if you get wheel well mouldings they will match the 2 tone.

This is the what I've been told. All 4x4 trucks come with wheel-well moldings. On XLT and Lariats they are color-key (your truck color or the second color for two-tones). If you have a Work series 4x4 or XL 4x4, you get black plastic moldings. For 99 and earlier, only Lariats had moldings on 4x2 models. Now I heard that originally Ford was going to change that to include XLTs for 2000, but it looks like they did not change that. So all 4x4s and Lariat 4x2s have the wheel-well moldings.
