The statements of RC will always be the best is absolutely on key correct!! Nobody can ever dethrone RC. RC is like MX's Babe Ruth of baseball.

I'd love to see a season with RC, Bubba, Villapoto, Dungy, Windham, Reed all in one class. I'm looking forward to Seeing Dungy move up!

Big fans here. In fact my wife was just bitching about the DVR yesterday. It's almost all mx racing lol.

(caution proud Dad moment ahead)

I gave up riding a couple years after my son started racing. Started when he was 5. He's 12 now. Just got released Friday to ride after 4 months off with a broken leg. First serious injury in 7 years so he's been lucky. In 05 his name was drawn to race the KTM Jr Supercross Challenge at halftime of the Dallas supercross race. That's a day we'll never forget. Even got our pics in RacerX. Here's a small pic of him on the podium (he got 2nd) with Erin. Yeah, she's even better looking in person. I'll have to post the others of that race tonight when I get home.

On a semi-related note, did anyone catch the Travis Pastrana special on CMT (I think)? Man, is his dad a giant *** hat. Interesting biography. I think it was on Saturday night.

Seriously? Almost every top amaeture rider has attended or now lives at Millsaps Training Facality in Cairo. We have riders from all over the world here. Plus several top pros train here or have trained here including Martain Davalos, Ivan Tedesco, Ryan Dungey, Ben Townley, Davi Millsaps, Cody Cooper and Ricky Carmichael. Also, we have another up and coming local that will turn pro at the start of the 09 Nationals named Justin Barcia.

Nice list. I wonder how many of the riders you mentioned by name would agree that Georgia is the MX capitol of the world? Almost every single one of them is from somewhere else and is currently based someplace else. Shoot, the Honda page even shows Millsaps is now based in Tallahasee and the AMA results for last week show him based in Carlsbad, California.

For every lap of training RC did in Georgia, how many hundreds did he do in his homestate of Florida?

How about Reed and Stewart? Why would they be based in Florida when they could cross the border to be in the MX capitol?

Florida and California have much more claim to be the MX capitol than GA, IMO.

I understand you point. A lot of the industry is based in Cal. and a lot of pro athletes (not just MX) live in Fla because of the states tax laws. All three states can law claim to being MX hotbeds. I just give Ga the nod because of MTF and RC being here. Also, I know all of the websites saw RC trains in Fla, but his track is actually in Cairo Ga. We are right on the Ga/Fla line so I can see the mistake. Expecially since RC lives in Tallahassee.

I'm going to my first supercross this weekend. What can I expect? Is there anything besides heat races all day....any freestyle shows? It's been several years since I've rode a bike but I can't wait to see these guys in person!

Get a pit pass. That's the best part of the day. For me anyway.

I believe Kenny Bartrum and co are doing freestyle shows at the intermission this year at SX. They used to have the KTM Jr Supercross challenge but they discontinued that this year.

me and my 12 year old ride, just for fun
me 08 crf 450r limited
him a 07 150r big wheel

the current races bore me, it is the bubba show. the riding is spectacular, i just dont like watching the same outcome over and over again.

when i was younger and watching there were so many great riders from 79 - 86
hannah, bell, glover, wise, omara, barnett, ward, bailey, johnson,
they ran 125, 250 and 500 supercross and the outdoor races.

now we have bubba, reed, they only run 450's and now most only run the s/x

what happened?

What there's no 125 & 250 class? All 450's? I've been out of the loop on this for the last several years.

Indoors, the two classes are now SuperCross (SX) and Supercross Lites.

Outdoors, it is Motocross (MX) and Motocross Lites.

The Lites class (formerly the 125 class) is now filled with 250 four strokes. It is legal to ride a two stroke up to 144cc, but they are not competitive.

In the SX class, the bikes are 99% 450 four strokes. It is legal to ride a 250 two stroke, but every top rider is on a 450. Same outdoors.

FWIW, they did away with the 500 class at outdoor national MX about 20 years ago.

Hey, the Atlanta round of the SX last weekend was great! Loved the track. Bubba is in the zone and totallty dominated, but some good action behind him and in the Lites class.

Yea, I follow SX. It is better when it's not just a run away with Bubba. I prefer him winning than Chad Reed though.

That was a pretty good race for 3rd/2nd last weekend.

Let's see if Bubba can actually make an entire season without getting Hurt though.

I ride, but keep my wheels on the ground in the Woods! Well, at least most of the time. I did the MX thing maybe 10 years ago. It's fun.... Crashing sucks.

Anybody see the final race on speed last night?

Big surprise Stewart took number 1 for the whole series but Vilopotto won the race. During the race he was about 20 seconds ahead of Stewart the whole time. Not like Stewart was actually trying in this race.
