Help! my mom wants an F-150......
My dear mother is finally tired of the 90 Bonneville and originally she wanted a Ranger. Now she wants an F-150. Me and my step-father shopped around yesterday and there aren't many on the lots here in Fl. She wants a reg cab, Flareside, XLT, with a 4.6 automatic, single cd and keyless entry. She also insists on deep wedgewood blue with harvest gold accent paint and parchment interior. I have never seen my mother act this way about a vehicle. She is being a typical, picky, discriminating F-150 shopper. The last dealer yesterday told us to order one would be around $24,800 and he would discount it to around $23,000. I think she would be better off getting a Supercab for the money. What do ya'll think? Does anyone have or heard of a similar truck?

I paid $20,308 for mine AND got the 5.4L.
$23K is a little high IMHO.
No Factory CD (thank god) or keyless entry though.
I don't know if they charge extra for flairside.
Supercab would be nice but how often does she carry passengers?

Besides she's only a couple of years older than I am and look what I drive!!! Reg cab flaresides are kind of hard to come by. I don't even think you can get a Lariet model. And yes, flaresides do cost more than stylesides. Check out www.kbb.com and price out the truck for your mom. Then print everything out and take it to the dealer. You should get the price down to about 3% over invoice if you order. Anything more and you're being screwed.

I think I payed 24,600 for mine and got more truck then that dealer is offering her. By the way if you want to save her a few bucks take a drive out here and buy one

I have always found Carsdirect.com to be over priced. But I just ran my truck through it to see what their price is. My truck (as speced in sig) comes out to: $27,950 from carsdirect. I got it for $27,935. So they have apparently come down on their prices. Last time I checked (about 1 month ago) they were like $1000 more.

Your mom and my mom are a lot alike. They both enjoy quality vehicles. My dad went out and got a full on 95 XLT Powerstroke deisel crew cab 4X4 F-350. Then my mom promptly made it clear to everyone that it was HER truck. She doesn't like anyone touching it. Maybe its a mid-life crisis sort of thing.
