Post STX? What kind of F150 is it?

Every now and then I see an F150 that has STX written on the rear of the bed. Instead of Sport, or 4x4, it says STX. Can anone fill me in? I appreciate it, thanks

Actually...........Ford used the STX option for the 97 and 98 model years. For 99 and 2000, STX was dropped and the name Sport was picked up. It is basically the same option. Why Ford changed names I don't know. Maybe it was because all of the other makes, especially Dodge, was already going with a "Sport" description for their monochromatic look.

2000 XLT Black Sport, Flareside, 2WD, SuperCab, 5.4L Auto. Other factory options: 3.55 LS, Class III tow, 6-way Captains chairs w/CD changer, Remote entry , and Slider window.
Mods: Window tint, projector headlight & slotted tail light covers, removed "Sport" decals, Linex spray-in bedliner, an ARE LSII lid,and a Flowmaster cat-back exhaust kit.
Wish list: K&N FIPK, Belltech 3/4 drop, Belltech or Helwig sway bars, SuperChip, and a front bumper cover with driving lights.

And my STX is also an XLT. Were they all?
I have only seen one other one. Did they not make many?

The Sport (Similar to the 97-98 STX) is currently an option on the XL and XLT. Check out this link: https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/000988.html

hey, not meaning to cause an argument or anything, but i was told by my dealer when i bought my truck that all stx's are xlt's. the tx/ok/la package was for the xl's. it has the body colored bumpers but does not get the 17in wheels or the power windows/locks(not sure about the 3.55 rear end). ccla has a great example of the tx/ok/la package!!!

Cool

You could only get the STX package on the XLT. It also added 3.55 gears, color matched bumpers, power mirrors, 17" wheels. In '97 it was only available with the 6 cylinder engine and in '98 they made it available with the 4.6L V8 which is why I waited another year. Didn't know at the time that you would be able to get the 5.4 in the Sport in '99. Also, the STX could only be gotten on Reg cab models.

They did come out with some '98 models that had the V6 and color matched bumpers that was called a XL sport, but no SPORT sticker was on any of them.
