Exterior Color Options Which is best?
BlueFlareside, are you taunting me? Yes that is the color I wanted. But don't get me wrong, I love the Amazon Green color I ended up with.

quzax, the trim line you choose may impact your color selection.
Ford offers 10 colors and another 18 two tone combos.(total 28)
The Work model only comes in 8 of the 10 solids.
The XL is just plain confusing.
The XLT comes in all 28 schemes.
The Lariat comes 7 of the solids and 12 of the two tones for a total of 19 choices.

Hey Captain Windsor,
That's the way to go.... get it just how you want it! I was trying to be coaxed into a 2 tone with my 2000 Lariat. I like one solid color on the F-150. There was not one single 2000 Lariat with just the Amazon Green color in the state of California with the options I wanted. My dealer found 6 of them that matched the options and color, but all of them were 2 toned. I told him to dig out his order form and lets get to work....lol!

Just about any color offered on an f-150 is going to look awesome ( not too sure about teal though IMHO-don't beat up on me now! )but moonlight blue is the fastest color on a 4x4 - very aero-dynamic. Now on a two wheel drive red or black is faster - scientific fact, ask anyone with a lightning and they'll tell you the same. But if you want to look like you have lots of bucks go with white. But one thing with moonlight blue ,you need to wash it alot it runs much better after a nice bath- hates to be dirty! Or when all else fails there's always-Eeeney Meeney Miney Moe!!!!

Don C, I like your colors. I just couldn't get that because my wife's Windstar is the same scheme.
I also believe you have the rarest of F150 colors.

Well, I just ordered a black 2000 Lariat - plain BLACK, Lariat? Yes I taught the dealer something on that order too, he said it was not possible to order a plain black Lariat with no trim and I told him to try it anyway...loandbehold, it worked!! Sounds like you have input from all sides but the bottom line is, get whatever color is available that turns you on at the time - because then, when you say: "gee, I wish I had that color" then that will be your excuse to go get a NEW one!!!!!!!!

Well when you realy thinks about it this whole vehicle thing is nuts anyway. You take 5000 pounds or more of jagged metal, fill it up with 25 or 30 gallons of one of the most explosive and flammable fluids known to man, hurl it down the road at 75 miles and hour and you strap the driver in behind an explosive charge of Azide. And we let 16 year old kids do it too! think about it. ARE WE CRAZY???
Talk about crazy...
Last Thursday when I got my jello, instead of a usual spoon, the orderly gave me a fork!
Talk about insane, there was hell to pay. It took three of them to get it away from me.

"Like Henry Ford said: You can have any color you like as long as its BLACK."
I'm sure he also said: "You want ALL FOUR wheels to move at the same time, thats just crazy talk" or maybe he said "You can't go faster than 60 mph. your face would peel off", he probably also said, "What a key/lock for your car! You must be crazy. Who would want to steal your car.", or he could have said, "What a car that pulls horses, that'll be the day." (isn't that kind of like putting the cart before the horse?)
Or maybe he was in cahoots(sp?) with the US Patent Officer of the late 1800's who said: "More patent numbers? We don't need more patent numbers. Everything that can be invented has been."
My point being Henry Ford was very obviously a crazy old man. After all no sane person would have thought to himself: "Let's see we can take that metal box that explodes a few hundred times a second, put some wheels on it, mass produce it & sell it to everyone."
Thanks for all the input everyone. I still haven't made a desicion yet but I feel much more informed so I will be able to make the right desicion.
