Cool Driving "Attitude" w/F-150

I have been noticing during certain traffic situations that I am not nearly as agressive driving the F-150 as I used to be in the Rangers that I had. My truck has mellowed me out some. I am more of an authoritive driver now. I can see better, I am comfortable and I know I have the V-8 to fall back on if I need to make a move. I used to weave in and out of traffic, cut people off, etc. in the smaller Rangers. How has it affected your driving? I know the Lightning guys can't help having some aggression along with all of the born speed demons amongst us. Do manual F-150s make a more aggressive driver compared to automatics?

I think I enjoy driving much more now than I used to. I still put my foot in it occasionally, just for fun.

I tell you one thing I've noticed. While driving the Wife Celica, people tend to pull out in front of me. While in the F150 people seem to be trying to get the hell outta my way.

7" of lift, 35's with a big brush guard and 4 KC's seem to intimidate the soccer moms and doctors in their beamers and benzes

Shoot, I think people are also intimidated when we're not moving......
After working on the Truck the other day, I went to take a test drive and stopped at a gas station. I went in to buy something and this guy (freind of gas attendant) said "you look mad at someone." I said "I'm working on the Truck and I don't have it the way I want it yet." He goes "what kind is it?" I said a "Ford." So they both start making fun of fords. When I walked out, past a rusted out little shov to get to where I was parked, I thought "this is going to be fun" I backed the Truck up in front of the window where they could see me and pointed at the raggity shov. They came out and I said "Gee too bad I only have a Ford,... to think I could have had something like what YOU are driving"
You should have seen the look on their faces, PRICELESS

(when I was a teenager, I might have argued)

I always have the "I'm bigger than you" attitude while I'm driving my truck. On the bike it's another story! Although, my girlfriend says I drive like an old man,but I've been known to do a few smokey burnouts!

I always have driven fast no matter what I drive but I think I drive more agressive with this truck than I did in my Mustang because I think the cops will leave me alone because its not a sports car I have gotten away with speeding several times in this truck all ready I only got stoped once from some jerk state trooper that wouldn't give me a break a week before Christmas of last year I got stoped way to many times in my Mustang so thats why I bought a truck to kind of slow me down but it hasn't worked yet.

There is TOTALLY less ppl that pull in front of my F150 vs. the wife's tan minivan.
Sometimes i think there is a sign on the van that sais "please pull in front of me".
Rarely happens in the F150, and mines only a 4x2.

Cool

Well I'll be.......I thought I was the only one in the world that noticed that new habit! Seacrow, you are right, small trucks and certain people do push harder. I always assumed it was because we wanted to get home quicker to stretch out and relax...now I can do that in the Ford, and I take the time. (96 S10 / 97 Ranger) j.b.

I am no speed demon, and as much as possible I drive defensively. But if you were to compare my driving habits between my mom's Accord and dad's Sable to my F-150, you would've sworn that they I was two different people. With the cars, I drive about 80, do the stoplight race more often than not, do quick turns with the A/C on. But with the truck and one eye on the fuel guage, I have to settle on 65 mph, 2000 rpm max and settling on fan for cooling. But when the mpg's are already down the toilet in the first 1/4 tank, I might as well have some fun and let Shiloh scream its little V-6 heart out.

seacrow, I know what you're talking about. Before I got this truck I drove like my grandpa, now I drive like his daddy. The Norfolk rally in July is only 30 miles away for me so, it will only take me about two days to get there.

Thumbs up

Yes, I admit it, I was a speed-demon in my old F150 Bad (very bad) case of lead-footitis. Now with this new truck I've found my self going even faster!! But that's mostly on interstate. Around town I try to keep my take-offs withen reason because when you step on it, you can see the fuel needle falling. I think it's got a thirsty turbo!! One really nice thing about this truck is no one tends to pull out in front of me!!

Claudia: is that the only line of that song that applies to your driving. Or did you also "Burry your rig in a local motel"?

What's this world coming too. People shooting each other, dogs & cats living together, & i'm quoting country music!
