Talking I Just Don't understand it

There does seem to be quite the mix of people on this board, Both young and old, Both with good trucks and bad. The bootom line for me is if the truck does not perform and work like I want it needs to go. I live at 4000 ft elv and travel up to 6000 and down to sea leval. I go places in my truck alot of 4x4s have a hard time. I drive a ford all day for work, Either the expy or the crown vic. My truck has been overloaded many times with lumber, rocks, furniture, people, sand. Its pulled a 9000lb trailer.
I don't live on a paved road, Wind and sand blows sometimes 60-70 mph blasting the sides of it (no garage) Out of a little town of 3000 people there are maybe 10 cheavys the rest ford. I feel bad for you people that got bad ones but they do hold up and do the job they were ment to do.

How do the rest of you treat your trucks?

Hey it's great to hear that. This is my second ford and so far it hs 11500 miles and the onle problem I have had was an exaust leak. the dealer fixed that with no problem. I had a 94 ranger that I traded in on this and had 175000 and the only problem I had was a starter ge out. the only thing tougher than a ford is a womans stubborness.

TexasKid1,

I am like you..if it plagued with problems (beyond expected/normal wear and tear)...it goes..no matter what vehicle it is. So far though, the F-150 has proven, to me, to be *incredible* and VERY reliable! This is my second one..and I would of course buy another one in the future.

I am one of those that takes <extremely> good care of vehicles...never beat on them..but drive them hard. Oil changes with filter at or before 3,000 miles every time. I can't go very long without 'turning a wrench' or something!

I agree...we have a great mix of people on here!!

Put it this way, the wife is jealous of the way I treat my truck. It runs like a champ. Piston slap much quieter with change to synthetic and additive, so I can live with it. Overall a great truck. Now Ford Motor Company's response to customer concerns disapoints me greatly. Good truck, poor service.

I'm on my 7th Ford truck. In all I've owned 38 vehicles. 27 of em have been or are Fords. I just like Fords. If treated nicely, they will treat you nicely back. FOrd builds a quality vehicle.
Hopefully, someday, Ford Motor Company will pull its head out of its hindend and stand behind the people that stand behind them. The representation from their so called service reps is deplorable. They need to learn how to listen. In Rochester NY we are blessed with the all new Auto Collection. They need to be reminded that WE apy their wages. Enough said..
Rick..

I've owned Fords since 1984. In addition to my F-150 we also own a 1994 Taurus with 80k miles and have had no problems with it. It's still running very strong. Yes, I've had problems with other Fords I've owned but the dealers have allways fixed them right. (I don't yell or accuse, I just state the problem calmly and politely and I get the same back from dealer personel.) Some took longer than promised or had to be taken back 2 times but I've also had the same experience with non-dealer mechanics.

Bottom Line. I'm pleased with Fords and I'm staying with Ford, problems or no problems.
