Exclamation Pete Rose

Pete Rose gambled on baseball. He never threw a game, intentionally fudged a play and played all out all the time. He was Mr. Team Player, Mr. Hustle, his love for the game was immense. He was an All star pick for most of his career. Because of gambling he is banned from the Hall of Fame where he belongs. Bud Selig can reinstate Rose but won't do it because Selig is an *******. With Pro ball player greed, numerous drug violations, and loyalty equalling a $5.00 ***** what is so incredibly awful about gambling. Remember Roberto Alomar spitting in an umpires face? I saw a documentary on Pete Rose and I had to vent. What does everyone feel about this subject?

Pete Rose got what he deserved. He was a jerk when he was still active and he's a jerk now. Even one of his former teammates, Johnny Bench (a native of nearby Binger, Oklahoma), thinks he needs to stay out. He knew he could get burned if he was caught gambling and he still chose to do it anyway.

Pete Rose said he never threw a game or intentionally fudged a play. Heck, when he was first confronted he said he didn't gamble! You make a great customer for a wonderfull piece of land that I own in Florida.
He made his choice now he has to live with it.
You asked.

What about Daryl Strawberry? His drug use doesn't hurt anybody, and it obviously doesn't affect his game. He had hall of famer written all over his name. how many strikes has he had (No pun)? I think he hit one out of some dome somewhere and it was STILL going up when it hit the right field wall or light or something. If I remember right, they estimated areound high 500's (580+) on the foot mark for that dinger.

I think he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Should he be allowed to participate in pro baseball? No. As for Johnny Bench, hes a bigger a****** than even Rose is. I do agree with everyones assesment of Rose's character but with what he did as a player I think he deserves to be in the hall.

Johnny Bench hasn't come up hot on a **** test and he hasn't gambled. The thing about Charlie Hustle is he doesn't see anything wrong with what he did. He's not sorry he gambled, just sorry he got caught.

I say no way for Pete Rose.

If I am not mistaken, it was reported that there were 13 criminals/felons playing in this years Superbowl. *For the most part*, these guys are no longer role models for kids!

Hell, we've had Presidents who have done worse. I don't see the big deal in Pete Rose's case.

Rose is a jerk, but I really don't care that much what he did off the field. For his accomplishments on the field, he absolutely should be in the hall.

Pete Rose's character has nothing to do with his induction to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He was a scrappy kid, he is no Rhoades Scholar, but that does not qualify him for the "Hall".
When MLB investigate Rose misdealings they ask known felons and other low life could not hold their own in a court of law. Bart Giamattis(sp) investigators ((Fay Vincent) wrote a 1400 page report for internal use only, Rose and his attorneys read it a claimed it could not be held up in any court, full of lies and accustations that could never be proven. Then the commissioners office created a watered down report, about 400 pages, that was released to the press, this version made the Commissioners office look like it was written by angels and Rose was the devil himself. To this day, the Commissioners office refuses to release the long version.
Rose accepted the life ban from MLB figuring he could never win against Giamatti or Vincent but there was a provision where he could apply for reinstatement at a later time.
Until MLB gets an honest, people's Commisioner like they had with Peter Ubberof(sp) Rose has little chance of the uncovered facts coming out. Did Rose gamble on his own team, to justify a lifetime ban? In MLB terms he's guilty till proven innocent. What we, the public, known is what we've read through the commissioner's office spin doctors.
Will #14 make it to the Hall of Fame, probably, in the same way Leo 'the mouth' Deroscher made it, from the grave.
Are Baseball's rules fair, let me take a snort and get back to you if you're a white, english speaking and American born, but don't bet on it!

I hated the guy throughout the years, Met fan, didn't like what he did to Buddy Harrelson . But even I think he needs to be let in.

If he threw a game, that could possibly change my mind but that has not been proven. Gambling on other teams? I'd be willing to bet that there are current Hall of Famers that have done the same or worse.

Unless you can prove he changed the outcome of a game as a player or a coach than put him where he belongs, in the Hall of Fame, he earned it.

Babe Ruth was a womanizer and a drunk, Johnny Bench never TOOK a **** test and he never got CAUGHT gambling, and neither did a lot of old timers that ended up in the hall.
Rose is no boy scout, but what he did for the game far outshines what he did off the field.

Johnny Bench has done a lot of good things for us in Oklahoma. What's Charlie Hustle done for his hometown lately?

Nobody is keeping Bench out of the hall. How many babys you kiss in your hometown should not be a criteria. On the field, Rose outperformed most anybody. That's the critical thing.
