Pete Rose
Your right. Hall of fame should be based on whether or not you bought your mom a house with your signing bonus, married your high school sweetheart and returned that robin to its nest in the 3rd grade. 3,000 hits? Who needs it.
Whatever Charlie Hustle did off the field reflected on him on the field. He knew that. It reflects on other MLB players, too. If the hall of fame was important to him he would've pulled his head out of his *** before he started wagering. TOO BAD, TOO SAD! He was well aware of the consequences and he took a chance. He figured no matter what he did, folks would say, "Look at Charlie Hustle. He's a good player." Takes a little more than on field prowess to get in. And I also think Daryl Strawberry's coke snorting *** needs to be banned and kept out of the hall, too. When will Steinbrenner have ENOUGH?!
I sort of view the Baseball Hall of Fame to represent the history of baseball....and in beliving this i think it should be an acurate history. so you include all events and people...not just the good ones...but the ones who made an enormous impact. he changed a lot about baseball... just my opinion.
