That's kind of what posted in the Bailout thread, we may as well use Monopoly
money, with the way our gooberment is throwing it around. On the bright side,
the ones that have hoarded $s up are screwed.
One thing brought up in the first video is true. You can't keep giving away what
you don't have.
Remember the piles of American Dollars found in Iraq. So in the end, we will have
gotten all of the Middle East oil for free.
90% of the American population are insolvent anyway. It would only hurt a few
here. As far as shipping it to China, it'll put their lien on the American public in
exchange for the stimulous money we have already received

It does sound kind of far fetched though, even though the EC did it.

Honestly, I think its a back up plan. Its not something thats going to happen for sure. but, if the economy really crashes, the dollar becomes even more worthless, etc etc etc, then they have this as their backup plan. Better then sitting there, and hoping everything will work out. At least they are doing something.

I don't think it will become a reality, but I do think there is a plan in place, just in case.

People saying its Obama.

The Amero was around, long before Obama. Obama has nothing to do with it. He isn't even our president. Under Bush's administration, we apprantely dove into it further. No, not Bush. Bush is not at fault. Don't start with that crap. But don't think its Obama either. The idea was around when Clinton was in office, and probably before that, as well. Personally think the guy in the video is a crazy paranoid fella, wanting his 15 minutes. But I do think there are plans, in the background, just in case, for an Amero, or something like it. Again, if we had NO backup plans, I feel that as a much more dangerous route to go.

The dollar cannot keep being inflated (printed out of thin air) forever. These stimulus plans did not work in the Great Depression, and they're not going to work now. In fact, stimuli lengthen a recession/depression. We are better off to let the economy bottom and get it over with sooner. All we are doing is bankrupting the Republic and crashing the dollar. It's not a matter of if, just when.

i think he means they'll be merging the 3 currencies, not the 3 countries. north america will have ONE currency instead of 3. the countries will still be seperate. doesn't sound like too bad of an idea.

Not a bad idea..... for Mexico and Canada. No benefits for the U.S. IMO

This would also pave the way for the "great highway" or whatever they were calling it. "making it easier for trade and commerce" they would open a highway from canada through to Mexico. Travel would be easier to get to and from.

We would slowly merge together. Seperate countries, but all sharing travel and our economy. Much like the United States. Each state is a different government, but we all share a common economy and have open travel. Our fed. government overlooks us, while we would have some multi-national "board" reviewing north america.

With the regulations and practice, the civil war (or Cartel wars) and unrest down in Mexico, it would become a nightmare. The country is in turmoil. Dirt poor. And is all around struggling (not like we are booming, but we are better off). The amount of corruption is overwhelming. There business practice and their enviromental awareness would make some of our greenies go ape ! There trucks wouldn't have to pass our emissions testing, so these mass polluters would be driving all over our streets. They don't have to have a U.S. drivers license, since they are here for business and will return home. These are just a couple of the top layers of issues I would assume would come with the "Amero". It would be a nightmare. We can do it, but man it would be a mess.

I dunno. Just kinda my opinions. Again, i think the amero is a "just in case" idea or a back up plan, if stuff really starts getting BAD. I guess we will get to see.

I hope it never happens. No benefit to Canada that I can see. Our finances are in much better shape. Real estate is not collapsing, yet. We set our own interest rates which would be gone. Trade would be less. We don't want a dollar on par with U S as it restricts trade. We have been paying off dept for years, although that may change, and the U S is borrowing billions that they don't have and yet offering tax cuts. Wise move... You are going to get change but is any of it good? Just sayin.
