Glad it seems to be working out for you. Just do some online research and you should get an idea whats good and whats not. The one I purchased for the bedroom was also from Wally world. It has a decent picture, nothing like my 42" but after all it was no where near the price. I also took their 2 year no questions asked warranty but hopefully I wont have to use it.

I have a Magnavox in my Man room and wondered what the connection was with Phillips.

I found this:
The Magnavox name is still used by Philips to market "value-priced" (lower priced) consumer electronics.

When I brought my 25" Magnavox home and hooked it up, Bernard Shaw was reporting the first explosions from Iraq, that was the start of Desert Storm in 1991.

The set is on right now, Bill O'Reilly looks kinda bad but, I think that's just him, the other stations are crystal clear.

18 years old, never been serviced.

At one point in this mess the customer service folks mentioned offering me a Magnavox instead of the same Phillips. Sadly, once I did sme research I found coments online of 19" Magnavox sets having the same power supply issue. A couple of techy actually poked around inside their sets (Magnavox) but could not find the problem. One theorized they may have been built with non-leaded solder causing heat build up to eventually short some inside circuitry.

Way beyond me, but for that reason I will stay awa from Magnavox too. Proably unfair to chastise the entire name because I have a 42" Phillips I'm watching right now in my living room. I've had it well over a year and it performs flawlessly. The problem seems to be limited to the 19" models for some reason.

I did find they are dumping a lot of these - even anouncing them as refurbished - on sites like Overstock.com.

Vizio has just come out wth a new line of 19-26" TVs. My parents have had a Vizio 32" for a couple years now and Dad swears by it. They're value priced. A nybody got experience with them???

I have a 19" Sharp LCD in my daughters room. It is just over a year old. It is used daily for DVD, Playstation, etc. I just bought a 46" Sharp LCD for the living room last month. No trouble on either.
My son has a 32" Toshiba LCD for about 2 months. Again, no trouble at all.
I agree Samsung is the best. I just don't like the price. I would easily recommend Sharp or Toshiba. I have had several Sony items over the years, nothing LCD. I would buy Sony LCD if the price was fair.
Just my opinions...

We have a 32 inch Panasonic Viera in the bedroom, it's a pretty nice tv.
I wanted to put a 46'er in there but the wife freaked on me.

I can't believe you had all that bad luck with the same tv, wow.
Like others said, Samsung makes awesome LCD TV's as well.
I just picked up one of their 630 series and it's sweet.

Glad you're getting a refund/
