How fast do you drive and why?
In the freeway, I usually cruise at 65-70 mph, that is the legal speed limit in my area (I got a ticket, two months ago, not planning to get more anytime soon) which is a good balance for controllability, fuel consumption and not too much tailgaters. But that is with the F-150. If I go drive my mom's Accord or my dad's Sable, I go 75-80 mph with no regard to mpg's, and I don't baby it as much and my style a bit "ricey". With the truck I am Leo Lightfoot, with the cars, I become Leo Leadfoot.

I would have to say im a leadfoot to the bone. When Im on the open highway I usually cruise at 85. Sometimes even a brisk 90 is in order

On the freeway, 120 km/h (75 mph) which is 2,500 rpm in 5th. That's safe and barely keeping up around here on the 401, 417 or 416 highways.
Rain or shine, I might add. That's why I put an older Windstar wiper blade on the driver's side. The scoop keeps the blade flat on the glass in the rain at cruising speed.

I always do over 90 on the freeways. I have tried to top 100 but there is always too much darn Traffic! I only slow down for road conditons, traffic and Police.
My huband noted that no matter where I am, I am going at least 20 over, but he is wrong because I do 10 on residential streets. You never know when a kid or dog will come out on to the road.

I really don't know how fast I drive because the needle only goes to 100. Once, this exotic Italian sports car tried to pass, I think it was a Testuroaster. Well, I could see this guy smirking at me so I stuck my head out the window and gave him some lip. He flipped me the bird, so I flipped him the double bird. You really shouldn't let go of the wheel at these speeds but, when he saw me hanging out the window giving him the double bird he got scared and backed off. No sooner did I get back in the cab to adjust the radio and here he comes again.
I was going to do something real interesting next but, the bell rang and I had to change classes.

On the highway..I travel 5-10mph over the posted limit. If there is a group traveling together at higher speeds..I get in a few vehicles back and go with the flow.

Speed limit always in school zones.
Speed limit usually in residential areas.
5 - 10 over on other roads.
"Pack Speed" on freeways, otherwise no more than 10 over.
School zones are that way for a reason. Lots of kids running around. In some communities, they also have stiffer fines. Double the normal fine in my county.
Residential areas, I try to keep as close to the limit as I can. Sometimes, I'll drive 5 over if the streets are wide and there aren't any blind spots where kids can come running out. If nobody is behind me, I'm happy driving at or below the speed limit in residential areas.
Other roads, if you drive the speed limit, you're holding up traffic. Police usually don't bother you unless you're going 10+ mph over the limit.
Freeways, if you don't go at the speed everybody else is driving, you become a hazard.

With this truck I very rarely speed. My 96 S10, as fast as it's 2.2 could carry it. The 97 Ranger, as fast as the road would allow. The 97 GMC 1500, wish someone would steal it or total it for me. Time stands still in the F150, such a delight to drive home and unwind after work, it seems to say "welcome" everytime I light it off.
The motorcycles however....You never outgrow your need for speed. j.b.

Usally about ten over on the highway. But when I'm headin to and from Oklahoma I run about 80-85 on I-35. But usally that's just what everybody else is doin. Guess I'm just excited about goin up there, maybe that's why I speed. It's good to have a radar detector and a cb sometimes. The cb really helps you out!!

I drive the speed limit or 5 over. I do admit to a 152 mph speed run through the Ocala National Forest on SR 445A with my 440 Six Pack Challenger RT. I try to keep the nonsense to a minimum because I do have a family.
