It would be nice for those that own a 4.6L, but I doubt they will.

I found out that they are offering the new supercrew with a 4.6L (and of course the 5.4L).

Fast46triton, Can't say that I'm waiting for it to happen for the fact that most of the mags out there will find something like the ashtray doesn't work right, something stupid seem to allways negate the way the truck is. There seem never to be a real test of cars or trucks now days. It's seems that it's all in the amount of advertising that a certain moter company pays.

You don't want Motor Trend or Car and Driver to test a F150 with a 4.6
Back in 97 they both did a comparison of the Pontiac Grand Prix, and the Taurus SHO both of them chose the Pontiac. What a rigged contest.
I owned a 97 SHO, and my best friend Had a 97 Grand Prix GTP. I had no problems with my SHO, my friends Grand Prix was peice of crap. He got rid of it in 8 months.
So I wouldn't trust them to do a test on any Ford.

They basically pick whoever has the new truck that year. I would say that this years winner will be either the new Supercrew or GM's new superdutys. Seeing as the Supercrew is supposed to be a 2001 model my bet is on the GM's this year

------------------
97 F-150 S/C 4x4 ORP XLT 4.6 K&N , Flowmaster w/dual tailpipes, Bosch+4 plugs,Ford 9mm wires,Superchip.Patriot fiberglass toneau cover, Westin chrome step bars.
Kenwood 4011 stereo, Rockford 150a1 amp, Profile electronic crossover, and 2 10" JBL's.

FUTURE STEREO MODS:
Memphis components in front, Pioneer 3ways in rear, amp for the components, and a cd changer.

FUTURE PERFORMANCE MODS:
4.10 gears, Edlebrock shocks, supercharger, Airaid, power pulleys.

"Truck of the year"....look at the 99 Silverado, Truck Trends pick for truck of the year...it now has a poor reliability rating..so I also believe the "truck of the year" rating is for body style looks.

the only 4.6 test I have seen was back in may of '97 "Long term test" FOUR WHEELER mag. the author made note of Fords "ambitious, even daring, redesign". also mentioned was an average of 14 mpg and "the Triton engine doesnt mind getting into the higher rpm range" they spoke well of the truck over all but your right someone needs to test a newer 4.6l
