Lighting up the tires

I was driving my truck last night, and I was at a stop light and noticed a fellow in the right hand turn lane next to me was looking like he was going to try to beat me to the cars parked across the intersection and cut me off. Well, I gave it half-throttle and easily beat him, but I was squealing through most of the intersection. Anyone else dealing with this no-traction business on dry streets? It seems that any time I give it any gas at all from a stop, I'm burning rubber. Have anything to do with my having stockers or maybe I'm just a really light truck (short bed reg. cab) for a 5.4L? Just wondering

My truck will not come close to spinning on dry pavement. I kinda have the heebie jeebies about that.

'07 5.4l, 2wd, supercab w/ 3.55's l/s.

Is there a big weight difference between the reg and supercab? When I was shopping for my truck, the reg cab 4.6l felt quite a bit quicker off the line than my truck. It had the same axle ratio(3.55), but non l/s.

Ya, mine does it pretty easily too. I know the situation well, dumb jag offs think they're clever too. Most times I leave just enough to keep pace and make them have to stop hoping the guy behind me won't let them in, some do some don't. Still is cool lighting it up once in a while, a cool road going sideways is way more fun or how little traction you get on dried salty roads.

Nope, don't have that problem. I blame my 3.55's.

I can spin mine on dry pavement sometimes, depeding on the town. In my town my tires stick to everything, but in the neighboring towns its all I can do to keep traction. And when its wet in that town im in 4x4 just to keep straight.

This is with nitto terra grapplers and 3.73

See now you guys who have this "problem" are just showing off.

If I can ever get my truck to do it I'm gonna take the rest of the week off to celebrate.
