Weird Desktop Problem

Hey. I have somewhat of a weird problem. I have a site as you all know and I make wallpapers for it. I put in a small watermark in the bottom right. It's a very high quality watermark and looks very nice with the name of the site. Viewing it on wallpapers in PS and the image viewer, it looks great. However, when I apply that image to my desktop (yes in the correct resolution), the watermark looks like I saved it as a jpg at level 1 quality. It just loses all smoothness and looks like absolute ***. It's not just my monitor. I sent the same wallpaper to a friend, he said the watermark looked clear as day. I did a print screen of my screen with the wallpaper assigned, and he noticed that it looked like *** too.

Anybody have any ideas?

did you join the photo layers all into 1? or did you leave them seperate when you saved the photo?

left them in separate. My friend did say the wallpaper looked fine when he applied it to his desktop though.
