I saved thirty bucks a month with VOIP...

Saving thirty bucks a month surprised me by simply switching to internet phone service. I asked how, and apparently internet phone companies are not subject to guberment regulation and taxes. I honestly don't care how I am saving the money, but has anyone else done this and seen a substantial savings?

I thought about switching, but my crappy internet and having an alarm system has stopped me. How do you like the service?

We have voip here and it's really not the greatest. Our connection goes out a lot right in the middle of the call yet we have solid internet connection. Actually the internet connection here is pretty dang good for regular cable. Yet the phone system is lacking quiet a bit. We have ours through Mediacom Cable.

When I signed up, they were 5 weeks out on installation. I signed up last week

I switched from Grande to ATT. They will be doing TV, Internet and phone services. Overall, I am saving fifty bucks a month. The salesman asked what my internet speeds were, and I told him that it was fast. He looked at my bill and laughed. 1.5 something were my upload, and my download was 396 somethings. With ATT, I will get 10.5 up, and 1.5 down. It should be a buttload faster. Plus, they are gonna install the wireless modem which is better than what I have now. I can also access ATT wireless hotspots at no charge. I am not here to blow them or to try and get yall to switch, I was just amazed that switching would be so much better. Quality and price. I stayed with the current provider of these services for 8 years.

Supposedly, I have a dedicated fiberoptic line. Hopefully all will work out well...

The nice thing is that there is NO contract, I can leave at any time.

Look into Viatalk. I had them for ever 2 years. It was a pleasant experience. If you sign up for a year, it comes out to about $14 per month. Can you think of any company that can top that?
