What is the holster for... Concealed carry or competition style? Do you want inside the waist band or outside? Hip holster or small of the back? Kydex or leather?

I use a Comp Tac Minotaur MTAC inside the waist band holster for my CC kel tec. It is a mix of Leather and Kydex. I like it, but my kel tec pf9 is a good bit thinner than your XD. You might not like the XD inside the waist band... might be uncomfortable. You can check Comp Tac for outside the waist band though. Here is the one I carry:http://www.comp-tac.com/catalog/prod...bc88a5c743c4db

I use the Blackhawk for some competition shooting and like a lot. I switched from a Fobus kydex holster and I like the Blackhawk better. It seems to hold the gun better. You could try a Fobus if the only thing you didn't like is the "release" of the BH. BTW I have the Blackhawk for my Glock 17 set up for IDPA shooting.

I was actually just looking for an XDM holster online. So I am looking for reccomendations as well. I want a OWB holster just to carry on my side while out at the farm. Any ideas. There's so many to choose from.

If you just want one for kicking around a Fobus paddle holster is great. They are around 40 bucks or so, Kydex plastic, and hold the gun pretty well. They cover the trigger well to keep something from hanging up in it. It's fairly easy to get the pistol out quickly once you learn the angle and pull. Pistol just "snaps" into place.

I don't really know what OWB and all those other terms are, but Im like jrbhc8, just looking for something to have on my side - on the outside - and be comfortable and be easy to draw... Im 18, so I won't be carrying it concealed for another few years until I get my permit.... and I dont see a need to conceal around the farm, and since I can't conceal in public I dont need a conceal holdster... I was even considering a drop holdster (I guess that's what its called) where its attached at the belt, and and the leg, and hangs down on your side.... Oh, and thanks for your guys' replies!

Check Galco's web site. It wil show you all styles available by weapon. I currently use a horizontal shoulder holster, and paddle holster to carry my H&K P2000 ( in .357 Sig). I have been using both for several years now, Liscensed concealed carry, with no issues.

Anyone have experience with Crossbreed super tuck? I'm an officer and I love my Keltec P3AT but I wanted a .40 to carry so I got the XD Sub. I've read great things about the Crossbreed. I wear shorts a lot so I want something that's easy to carry like my Keltec was, throw it in the pocket and lets roll! I thought about a paddle holster but I have a fobus for my 226R and it makes the gun too visible.

Sweet...XD talk

Ok so I have a lot of "holster" experience with this weapon...although mine is a .45, I'm pretty sure they are the same size as far as holster fitment.
Ok, so this is my duty holster. I was one of the first people to receive the XD from my gun store when they came out....was on a the waiting list before they hit the stores. There were no initial holsters on the market for duty carry, so the guys at my local police equipment store helped me find something that would work. We spent a good 1 1/2 hours testing the gun into several holsters until we found the Uncle Mike's PRO-3 Triple Retention Duty Holster 9530-1 made for the HK 9mm, .40, .45, USP Compact.

This is still the holster I use today, has been for the past 3 years, and it works great. The retention is nice and the draw is pretty good. Sometimes I switch to my SafariLand Light-bearing holster.

The nice thing about this holster is that I have the attachment to remove it from the thigh rig, and attach it to my duty belt. Kind of like 2 holsters in one, although it is a pain to loosen and tighten everything back up again.

I also have the Bianchi Model 82 holster for when I am in formal attire.

This one is nice too, rides close to the body and can be concealable but the XD service model is not really that easy to conceal due to the long handle. At least that's what I've noticed. Hope this helps

Photos... =D I love photos... lol... Thanks Tycoz! I really liked those... On the first one, I noticed that it appears there may be a space between the trigger guard and the holster? Im just curious, especially since it was meant for the HK. Thanks!

Its amazing! I start 5 differnt threads and get more replies in 3 days for the one on the XD than I did for the other 4 combined in 2 weeks! lol...
