Dodge is dumb, IMHO
One of my neighbors recently bought a new Dodge RAM. He has only owned Chevy or Toyota trucks in the past. We got on the subject and he said he could not believe how well it drove and all of the power it had. It was "one of the best trucks he has ever owned". I simply noded my head and said it sure looks nice.
I wanted to tell him that if you thought that was something...you should go drive my F-150. Then you would think you got screwed!
Dodge IS dumb!

Don't you mean...number 4?
1) Ford F-150
2) Toyota Tundra
3) Chevy/GMC
4) Dodge RAM
Of course, the order of 2 and 3 are just my opinion. I would buy a Tundra before a Chevy or GMC. Dodge..not a chance.

I worked for a dodge dealer, in the parts dept. for almost 2 years. I was as busy as a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest.

Hey I want a kick at the can too!
I owned a Daytona Turbo in college, it was an '86 and a MAJOR P.O.S.! After sinking good money after bad into it, I GAVE it to my brother. He continued making the loan payments on the local parts manager's luxury boat until he too got smart and sold it CHEAP!
I had such a terrible warrenty claim go bad that I swore I would never again own a Dodge in my life.
My wife has a 1990 Jeep YJ Wrangler (it's for sale thankfully) since our 3 years of owning it we estimate it's ave. age to be about 1 1/2 to 2 years considering all the new parts we have put on it.
My father in law and mother in law own Chrysler cars that wont run for more that 2 consecutive weeks without dealer attention!
My brother in law owns a 3/4 ton 4X4 s/c. At 700 miles the 1st of 4 fuel pumps went on it. He has 40,000 miles on it and it has had 2 sets of brakes, i set of springs, 1 frame and box crack welded, 1 new set of shocks, a complete front end replacement including steering box, and all tie rod/pitman arms and a new computer since his STARTED ON FIRE while driving, I could go on!!! He would like to sell it but he still owes more that the sh@#box is worth!
Don't the owners of these absolute crap products speak up or are they too embarassed that they were so stupid!
Enough of my ramblings, needless to say I will STILL NEVER own a Chrysler product (which now includes a 'Benz)
Those are my thoughts... not yours.

My previous truck was a 98 Ram Quad cab 4x4. I agree the Ram looks good, and from my experience thats where it stops. I baught one new and owned it for less than a year. During this time the intake manifold gasket got sucked into the oil valley and began to use oil, Dodge fixed it after whining about it. Also I developed a rear end hopping. When going down the road any little pavement crack would force the rear of the truck to jiggle kind of like a bad set of shocks. Where I work we have connections to chassis and shock suppliers so I contacted the engineers at Monroe and they sent me some trial shock to see it that was the problem. By the way thats who makes shocks for Ford. Anyway since the truck had only 10,000 miles on it Dodge said that they would'nt replace the shocks because they could'nt have gone bad yet. Needless to say it wasn't the shocks. Then I tried reversing the bottom leaf to no avail. After 4 trips to the service department I got real tired of spending my time to resolve what was wrong with this truck and the bouncing was getting worse. At 15,000 on larger bumps in the road it started to shift sideways which I considered unsafe. Well long story short Dodge told me that they would not warranty the rear suspension any longer and tagged the vehicle as such. I said I wanted a new truck. Their response was to seek the lemon law (but you wont win) they said. The district service managers words are forever engraved in my mind "If you don't live with it, trade it or sue us." That being a no win situation money wise I followed the advice of a former Dodge owner and baught an F150 and have loved every minute of it. Yes I've had the engine replaced for Slapping but they did'nt whine about it or make a fuss. Nothing so far but exellent service. Sorry for the long post\book but I needed to vent.
Also has anyone noticed that Dodge\Chrysler products are usually at the bottom of the safety list crashes. Nice visual designs but no mechanics under the sheetmetal.

From what I know and have heard, the trannies are junk and the older-design V8 motors, too. They all suck gas, including the V6 which is pathetic in power and reliability. Apparently the new middle V8 out of the Grand Cherokee is better than their biggest V8.
I have never liked Dodge (or any Chryco) fit and finish, nor the way the dash controls work. Like the looks of the pickup front end, though, but it is getting a little too familiar. Did like that look when it first came out. And the centre armrest with all its neat spots for cel phones, etc.
Wonder why they never offered real choices between step-side and flat-side-bed models? Chryco crash test results tend to be worst-in-class, also, trucks or cars. Maybe Dodge has disposable customers.

Black 2000 SC XLT short-box. 4.2 V-6, 5-speed, 3.55 Limited Slip. Side steps, CD, remote entry, FORD box liner. Add-ons: Older Windstar driver's side wiper blade (with the air scoop, because I don't slow down when it rains), back-up beeper, "f150online.com" sticker and snazzy Tweetie Bird floor mats.
My third F-series: '73 F-100, '98 F-150 and '00 F-150. Great trucks!

Bob's F150: I meant to say in my first post that I agree with you about those crash test results. I, and a lot of people, think the vehicle's ability to protect you in a crash is important, even critical, in picking a vehicle.
Shows the company cares, also, since those basic crash standards the factories have to meet are totally lame in the real world. "Good enough" just ain't good enough.
