Emergency Contact List

On a forum my dad belongs too they have a neat deal thats an emergency contact list. Basically you PM the mods your info and they sticky it. It is there in the situation that your on a road trip somewhere and something happens, you have someone that you can call no matter where you are.

For instance:

Name
Phone Number
Location (Town, State, General area)
Tool avaliable (welder, air tools, basic tools, car hauler trailer, ect)
General Times avaliable for assistance'
Distance willing to travel
Ect, ect.

This is just something that we could have sticked on all of the forums and have them avaliable to be printed if you going on a road trip. Its good to know that if **** happens, someone will be around that can help you out.

You think its plausible...

We did that on a Harley Davidson forum I frequent. I don't know if anyone has had to use it, but it is a good idea.

That would be good but I'm sure some people would ruin it by taking people's info and using it to harm them.

There is always someone that ruins the fun. And you would put your exact address, but just your town. The olny problem is your phone number that could be used against you.

Have you ever Googled your phone number?
The map even has the street view feature which I hate.
The one time I go out to get the Paper in my underwear and the photo truck drives by.

My mother in law was taking in the trash cans in her robe and got caught in the google camera as well. You should have seen her face when I said there was a picture of her in the Internet in her robe.

I live in the same school district in which I teach; I never go out to get the paper or the mail---regardless of what time of day it is---unless I am fully dressed---no jammies and bathrobe deal there---all of my students have cellphones with cameras---not a good thing if one happens to drive by on a Saturday AM...

Whitecrystal has called me before when he was stranded and needed some info on some codes that came up on his Xcal. Not quite the same situation as your reffering to but it was nice that he had my info since he was a few hundred miles away from his house.

I think this would be a good idea, but have the mods have the list under lock and key so you can only retrieve the info on a need-to-know basis instead of some weirdo browsign through google getting everyones number.
