Question Atlanta Dealers

I just recently purchased a used 1998 F-150 Lariat, with 6,000 miles left on the original warranty and the 5 yr 100,000 mile warranty thrown in at sales time. I need to find a good dealer to complete work on such items as the infamous door and roof cracks. Hopefully I can avoid the oil leaks and piston slapping. I would prefer a dealer close to Marietta, but a little longer drive may be worth it if I can avoid long battles over getting work done.

Stay away from Freeway Ford in Columbus! They have specifically said (sales pitch) that their mechanics "will not do as good of a job if they see another dealers emblem on a vehicle." They have been completely **** every single time I have been on their lot..from the sales staff to the parts department to the service department. I will never take my truck to them and would not trust them to check the air in my tires.

I have gone out of town to Macon (90 miles from Columbus) to RIVERSIDE FORD to purchase the 98 F-150 I had and again for my 2000 F-150. I was VERY impressed with their dealership and personally spoke to some of their mechanics. You might want to give these guys a try...sort of a long drive from Atlanta though.

If you can't find a good Ford dealer take it to a Lincoln dealer. They always are happy to do warranty work.

Based on my limited experience, I totally agree with Frank.
I purchased my Bolt from Tidwell Ford in Kennesaw. Got an exceptional deal, but in my opinion the service/parts dept. are hopeless.
Have also read on this board that even the so called major SVT dealership in Atlanta, Bleakly Ford, has had major foulups trying to service or fix SVT vehicles.
Quite frankly, I use my Lincoln/Mercury dealer for all of my normal maintenance as we also have a '98 Continental. Did not buy the Lincoln from them as they had not opened up yet, but they have "fixed" a lot of problems that Tidwell to fix with no complaints and 100% results.
Don't know if this helps, but I hope so.

Folks: You can check the Dealers forum under Ford Motor Company. A day or so ago, I brought back two topics on good and bad dealers.

------------------
Black 2000 SC XLT short-box. 4.2 V-6, 5-speed, 3.55 Limited Slip. Side steps, CD, remote entry, FORD box liner. Add-ons: Older Windstar driver's side wiper blade (with the air scoop, because I don't slow down when it rains), back-up beeper, "f150online.com" sticker and snazzy Tweetie Bird floor mats.

My third F-series: '73 F-100, '98 F-150 and '00 F-150. Great trucks!
