Internet Romance Experiences
I noticed that there are a few here that met there mate on the net, Pony-Mudder, TexasKid, etc. I thought I did but she packed it in last weekend.... I was wondering who or what you met before you found your mate? Here is a few I met.
One girl was a snotty one with big knockers and had the personality of a statue!
Another one was a kinky, crisis ridden, single mother that lived with wreckless abandon. She wanted to put a Halls cough drop in her mouth (along with something else for my B-day a couple of years ago). Hey I got no problem with that but not 5 minutes after I meet the girl.
And the grand finale for me was a girl that I drove an hour away to meet that insisted that she was ahh huh-hum....*petite*, not that I mind more to love but I am only 5-8 and can only handle so much. I met her at a gas station and she told me to look for a black truck (I was thinking Nissan, Toyota, Ranger, etc.). I was even on time to this one and anxious to meet her. Then I noticed a black truck, it was a.......it was a 1972 Ford F-250 4X4 with about a six inch lift, it was very nice. Then I noticed a head and I thought "no way" then I called her name, it was her! She got out of the truck and I realized it actually had about a eight inch lift. And it had a giant airbrushed picture on the hood of Hank Williams Jr. and a rebel flag with the words "If the South had Won, We'd all be better off". She was like, 6'2" (X 6'2"). I didn't know what to say, fearing she'd kick my *** if I turned her down in any way. I finally just told her that she needs a LOT more man than me, I think she agreed and we parted friends. She was very nice but not my type of girl.
I gave up on it after that one until I met my former girlfriend who transferred down here and needed help finding an apartment.

Sounds like she was alot of woman Seacrow. Well it's one of those deals where you have to be careful, you never know what could happen. I was lucky with Pony, but it seems like a lot of people these days are starting relationships by meeting on the net.

I too met my wife online. Yep, I really did !
I was over at my parents house one sunday evening & my dad just hooked up with AOL, so I got on & ended up in a chat room & asked if anyone else in the room was from TEXAS & I got several replies. One was my now wife.
We chatted privately for a few hours, then talked on the phone for a week, then met for a date on friday night. She finally decided to have me meet her at her apartment since her roomies & friends were going to be there to be safe. She had them check me out of course & go tell her if I was ok or not, which of course I passed with flying colors !! LOL
Then I had set it up for several friends to page me throughout the night so I could have a way out if I needed one, which I definitely did not !
Next thing I know, we find out that we are the same age, same tastes in music, parents & grandparents birthdays are in the same months/years, & that every time we we going out from then on, we would see people & we "both" ended up knowing them from different times/places. Pretty wild ! I guess it was just fate for us ! 6 mos. later we were engaged, 6 mos. after that we were in Maui, Hawaii getting hitched !
Now almost 4.5 years & 2 Ford Trucks later we are still going strong & happy !
SO, it "CAN" happen !
After this, several of her friends hit the computers & hooked up with guys from around the country from pilots of major airlines to who knows what.. They did not have any luck. So, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Neither of us were "looking", it just happened. Guess we got lucky. At least "I did" anyway ! LOL

Well seacrow, I met mine out of the newspaper.
Every time I dumped some one I ended up having to get a restraining order to make them stay away. After four R.O.'s, It was starting to become embarrassing. I have even been persued by people I turned down for a date. Guys broke in to my house, chased me in cars, followed me to work, left notes on my car, you name it. Appearently, I look so generic that they think I'm like somebody they want me to be. So I gave up dating completely for a couple years.
Then, I met this guy and by the time I thought he might ok enough to date, he moved (probably did me a favor). That got me to thinking "how can I meet some one and check them out before they check me out?" The newspaper ads! They are free to place an ad and it costs the callers. They have to call a special # so they won't know yours until you give it to them. You only return calls you want to.
Out of the five people I actually went out with, only one even bothered to walk me to the car!! Oh and we went to a hockey game (of coarse) for the first meeting where unbeknownst to the guy, my girlfriend has season tix too and was next to us. (I would tell her in advance to pretend not to know me) I would then send him for beer and we would talk about him while he was gone.
At least in the local newspaper, you know they're in your area, whereas on the net it could be anyone from anywhere, and you can't hear their voice either. Of course you could always send pics on the net after you talk to them, before you see them.
My single girlfreinds are having the same trouble finding any one worth while. In fact the one with the season tix has two seats just in case.

Well, I met my husband in front of the Harley Shop here in Wilmington. My parents owned it at the time and my mom had already met him and decided he was someone I really should meet. So she called me to come and casually drop by. By the time I got out there, she's already discussed with his boss/friend (that was there with him) all the nitty gritty that she could find out. She knew where he lived, his income any past relationships, everything!! He, doesn't know anything that's happening because he's outside waxing his bike. He really didn't know what hit him!! We've been married now for 18 years and my parents still think the sun rises and sets by him.

Well actually a bunch of us around 80 or so used to hang out in a compuserve chat room before the WWW was even here, there was a net just no web. And we started having parties 2- times per year so everyone could meet in person. Soon we moved the room to irc

My 13 year old kid had a 22 year old woman (I use the term kindly) calling him from Arizona. She even had his picture posted on her web page. Our one rule is he was not supposed to give out personal info on the net. He is now on restricted access and I had to change our phone number because of it. Beware you parents out there.

That's also why my kids computer is next to mine!!! Oh and I have two different passcodes in each computer, just to turn them on, plus a different one to log on the net, so when I log off my kids, I know they're not getting back on. In fact they can't even turn their own computer on!!

Wow Anthensometoo, you are stricter than I am! Not a bad plan however it would require me staying up till past 10 and 12 PM. His curfew is 10 PM on week nights and 12 PM on week ends with 1 hour per night weekdays after home work and total of 5 hours on weekends. Since he plays Football and Basketball he does not have time for any more than an hour a night anyway.
