while you can take everything thing i said word for word, i do remember carrying a knife on a plane before 9-11, i do remember being allowed access into the pilots area and getting to sit in pilots seat while we were in midair.

as far as buying power, discounts, etc... neither one of us has had to buy anything contract wise surplus wise for the military, but i think i may have been around it alot more(once again, i'm NOT calling you out, so calm down) while there ARE discounts, there are ALSO alot more ghost charges (charges for crates, gun racks to keep the rifles in, locks, gun racks for patrol cars for the rifles, cases, optics, grips, pac-4's, etc)

i'm not calling you out bud, i don't like doing that because they are unknown facts that neither one of us knows.

Nice move by Spade. While many of his peers are busy donating to Greenpeace in order to get their tax breaks, he actually picked a good cause.

I can easily see how a $1000 rifle needs a $2000 budget OTD. Optics, cases, accessories, ammo, and training might all be factored into that budget.

You're right. I do not buy products for the military. I sell to them. I first started dealing with Military and other government transactions (Federal, State, and local) back in 1989. Trust me on this, they get a low price. If they do not get a low price, someone is lining their pockets. This is the problem.
**** Cheney was criticized for his Halliburton ties. Turns out the war in Iraq was very good for Cheney's former employer. Do we all believe this was a coincidence?
I once read read that a local county was paying over $600 a month to lease a Ford Taurus. When called on it, the councilman had this reply 'show me a lower price in the Downey Auto Mall and I'll take it'. Now for the funny part; The Downey Auto Mall is in Los Angles County. The car was being leased by Orange County. At that time, anyone could get a Taurus for less than $300 a month. Heck, a nice Mercedes was less than $600. Would you question the councilman's loyalty to a specific dealer?
The Bush administration is being criticized for not supplying our military in Iraq with the best armor and the most secure vehicles. Americans have died because of this. As much as the US has spent on the war in Iraq, we should all be screaming.
Please accept my thanks for both yourself and your wife for serving. Be safe.
