TRUCKLESS!!!
Well guys, the beast is gone!!! I just sold it and I don't know wheather to grin or just cry. I cleaned it up for the last time yesterday and it rained today! By the time "spartan" got it, you would have thought I'd just taken it out 4-wheeling. Spartan flew into Myrtle Beach and my husband loaded the beast on the back of the CAT 18 wheel truck to take to the air-port. It was quite a sight, and I wish one of us had taken a picture. Spartan checked it out, road in it a while and then drove it a while. We made the deal, I cleared out my stuff and he was headed back to NJ. 5 minutes after he left I remembered my stuff that was still in the back!!! MY jumper-cables, fire extenquister, air pump, a big set of tools. And I was planning on filling up the gas tank too, totally forgot about it. Ooops!!
Hey Spartan, have you noticed anything extra in the back yet???

Yeah, another Ford Truck in the Garden State.
Good Luck with it Spartan, hope to see it in the near future. If we get a group together Tina will have to be an member emeritus. Be a good man and send T her things (may not be able to ship the fire ext).

Hey guys, I've updated my sig. finally
The new truck is due on Jan 10. Today I'm borrowing my mom's Jimmy, tomorrow I get the Nissan. I'm hoping my truck gets here sooner because driving these "small" vehicals has me paranoid. Yes I'm waiting, but it sure isn't easy!!

Well Tuesday was one of the longest days I've ever had, but it was great..
I woke up early around 7am, and my dad dropped me off at the shuttle to Newark Airport NJ around 8. It was a 1 hour comute to the airport. Sat around reading till about 11am when I boarded the incredibly small jet to Myrtle Beach. I'm 6'4" ... I couldn't stand up in this thing, I couldn't believe how small the jet was!
Well, I arrive at Myrtle Beach and it's raining, Tina and her husband meet me there and we drive around till about 4ish, gladly accomodating her husband's work schedule.
Of course, according to them I have a NJ accent and according to me, they have a southern accent. There were a few northern-southern barries. For example, NJ has "jug handles" or U-turns, and NC does not. They just turn around in the left hand turn lane (this is illegal in NJ). And of course there was the country music, specifically the lack-there-of up north. But that's ok, I enjoyed it
Finally came the big momment where the title was notarized and the money exchanged hands. I guess with all the excitement we forgot about the box of stuff in the back. After a while on the road I had remembered, but once I really got going I couldn't turn back without serious time loss.
As it is, I made the trip from NC to NJ in about 11 hours, about 4pm to 3am (wednesday). It was definetly worth it
A little sleet, a snow flury and few hours of rain on the ride home made it all that more interesting, but I had a lot of fun.
I will tell ya one quick little note from the trip. I was at a rest stop, just finished my dinner and I goto start up the truck to get going. Well, at the same time a guy was starting up his chevy blazer. The flowmaster exhaust sounded great -- it was like the truck growled and of course the guy looked over astonished. I've been getting a lot of that lately, pulling out of gas stations and such
Oh, and I discovered self-service gas stations, something alien to us in NJ.
Sorry for the long post, thought this was a good story. Hopefully I cut and pasted the signature correctly as well

Spartan: add to your sig: LUND Frontrunner bug guard, and heavy duty shocks. Speaking of accents, Paul's from Detroit, his southern accent is what I call a "put on". It goes away when he's back home!! I'm glad you made it home safe. Take care of the beast for me
Fast: you know I can't order that chip until I get the code from the computer

I'm no longer TRUCKLESS

Ford finally got the truck here today. They ended up having to send a driver to Winston/Salem to drive it back. That put about 200 miles on it but I figured after having a starter solenoid go out before I could get it that they could drive it a little and get the rest of the bugs out. Plus that just gets me a little closer to putting that chip on.
I'm used to a manual but this one is a 6 speed. R is where first was on my F150. Plus I didn't get the truck till after dark. Hey, you try driving a new truck after the sun goes down. At least everything is basicly where it's supposed to be. Well, just on the drive to my house I only stalled it twice but that was because I was trying to take-off in 3rd. Yep, watch out, new-be driver on the road
Tomorrow I'm headed back to Ford to have the mud-flaps put on and then I'm headed to the ARE dealer for my new top. It came in yesterday too. You should see all the controls on the door. 4 of them are just for the windows.
