Congratulations Tina,

What type of engine you have in this truck.?
You didn't mention that in your sig.

6 speed!!

You know the R does not mean RACING.

Thanks all, I have to "remember" to slow down when I go to crank it up It's got glow plugs and a light on the dash that tells you when it's hot. And then slow down when I go to turn it off(idle about 5mins). This truck takes a little getting used to

Ceesjan!!! I'm surprised at you, you saw the 6 speed part of my sig and didn't notice the "diesel" part!!! 6 speed=Diesel

NSS: anytime you want to see it, come on over

Hey Tina,

Well I did see that it was diesel.
What I meant was:

Is it V8,V10,V12,Vhowmany
How many liter.?
Don't know anything about these F250's.

There is one 1999 F250 overhere,7.7 Liter Diesel.

Cool

Ceesjan: OK, I understand now!!!! It's a V8 7.3 Turbocharged diesel. Takes about 14 quarts of oil each oil change!! Don't that sound like fun!!! I cranked it at 8:30 this morning and got back home this afternoon in time to meet my son at the school bus. The ARE top is now on and it matches perfectly. Ford (in their infinate wisdom) ordered the wrong mud flaps so they are now reordered. Checked into having the speakers removed and components put in along with a sub. That's pretty pricy but I don't want to change later because I didn't get the good stuff. That will be done next week. All in all, I'm loving this truck. One point, the clutch is MUCH harder to hold than the one in the F150. My left leg is tired!!!!

LoneWolf: love the sound of the diesel. I also love the sound of my old F150's flowmaster. I wonder what they would sound like on this truck?

Seacrow: You should see some of the looks I get now, especially when I get out (I'm 5'1")

Tina- I know what you mean about Tight clutches. My dad's company has Several Diesels, and they are quite different than gassers. I think Diesels use 12" diameter clutches. I am not sure about New ones though

Tina,

Wilmington NC will never be the same with your new "Kay-Whopper" SD diesel.

I wish you many years of trouble-free enjoyment with your new baby.

Tina: Another sincere congrats from me. Looking forward to seeing some pics.

I'm sure you'll get used to the clutch. Just think, if you switch legs every time you shift, you can quit the aerobics classes. It'll be just like Tai-Bo!

Andthensometoo: You should get into a PSD 6-speed. Of course, if you can already kick the baseball cap off a 6-footer, a PSD clutch should come easy.

Add-ons: Older Windstar driver's side wiper blade (with the air scoop, because I don't slow down when it rains), back-up beeper, "f150online.com" sticker and snazzy Tweetie Bird floor mats.

My third F-series: '73 F-100, '98 F-150 and '00 F-150. Great trucks!
