You're kinda right, it's basically the only hope for American Manufacturing right now. To try to make some money off of cleaner sources of Energy.

I'm sure we'll sit back, do nothing, and watch China capitalize on it...

 

China is not going to capitalize on it, they are just going to drill our oil right out from underneath us.

 

It's good and well to create clean energy. I'm for it. Let's kick the habit. Let's make more jobs. Keep people employed.

The problem is that basing clean energy solely on the falsehood of global warming/climate change doesn't make it right. Why do the treehuggers have to throw the scare tactic in there? Why not just make a new clean energy industry for the sake of making clean energy without the extra BS.

 

It's Not a Falsehood. It's a Statistically, Measureable, Scietifically Proven FACT. You can argue over the Cause, but Global Warming is not a debate, it's a FACT.

 

It is also fact that when humans weren't here the planet did the exact same thing. So basically the science on this is really a history lesson.

 

Again, You can argue about the Cause, but the effects are verfiable Fact.

 

What is false about the GW theory is the claim that human activity is the only cause.

why do you mention only global warming? Why don't you say something like cycles, or global cooling? Your biased towards man made global warming. FACT: the earth goes thru cycles. We are on a cooling cycle now. And please tell me, what is normal for earth? You or no one else can say what normal weather is. I am in Portland OR. right now. They got about 6 inches of snow yesterday... on top of snow earlier. When I left my home yesterday in the Seattle area, and it was 9 deg

I was just addressing several of the comments on this thread that seemed to state Global Warming isn't even happening. It is!

You can argue over Why the earth is warming: cycles, Man made, Oregon... But it doesn't change the fact that Global Warming/Climate Change IS occurring and Al Gore didn't just make it up.

 

I've asked that question a few times here in these discussions. I don't think any GW supporter has ever answered it.

Another one they always ignore is the one about the placement of the weather stations that collect all this "scientific data". Sure it's data but if you see where the stations are I can't understand how anyone can believe it's accuracy. Just scroll down this page and look where some of them are placed. http://www.norcalblogs.com/watts/weather_stations/ When you put a temp moniter in the middle of an asphalt parking lot or right next to large a/c condensors it's pretty obvious you're going to get higher temp readings. But yeah, I guess you can't dispute it because it's scientific data.

 

Can you please give an example of when in the last few million years that the earth wasn't going through a climate cycle in one direction or the other? Was there ever a couple thousand years or so when it stayed exactly perfect and what exactly did those perfect conditions look like?

It amazes me that so many seemingly intelligent people can fall for such scare tactics. It's just weather when it comes down to it and weather constantly changes. If you want to find the true cause of global warming all you have to do is follow the money. That's how most crimes are solved isn't it?

Ok, ok, the Earth is 1 degree warmer than it was 30 years ago, calm down. But here is a question, what do you think we can do about it? The temperature has risen before in the 3.5 billions years since its conception. And there were no humans, and it still rose, so, since man obviously has nothing to do with global warming, what are we going to do about it?
