I have been stopped 3 times:
1. On my way to Stillwater on H51 got caught going 70 in a 65 - let me go with a warning (state trooper was kind of cute).
2. In Bristow on my way to the grocery store, got stopped along with an ugly van going 45 in a 35 (I wasn't paying attention and when I saw them turn on the lights waiting for us to pass I thought "wow, I wonder who they are after" -duh! me!) - let me go with a verbal warning even though I didn't have my driver's license with me and no proof of insurance.
3. Again in Bristow, but got busted for expired tag. Got a ticket and had to go to court. Also got in trouble with mom for getting busted b/c I was suppose to be in class at the time I got caught (I was about 50 miles away from school).

Hear ye Hear ye, How many of you know your bill of rights?

They were written way back when (December 15, 1791) to protect the people from an opressive government. The US Constitution IS the law of the land. It yields greater power than State Constitutions. In the US constitution, there is the Bill of Rights, my favorite, Amendment VII, which reads

"In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise reexamined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common
law."

My suggestion is this, ask the officer if he can guarantee that your rights not be infringed upon, then request for a trial by jury. More often than not your jury will not materialize, and you may appeal your conviction to a higher court because your rights to a trial by jury were infringed.

good luck!

I agree take it to a jury.
I was on one and very few ppl got the tickets.
Everyone must agree you deserve to get the ticket or it will be dropped.
I am curios about your username though.

dunno if it's just luck, or if someone is looking after me from "up there" since I got my truck I've been pulled at least 10 times....never got a ticket.......in just about the same time period my mother has a 6 for 6 record.........ie she's had to dish out just under $2000 for speeding tickets :-)
the topper was on christmas eve......I was pulled just outside of the town I live in doin 147 km in a 60 (95mph in a 40) and I just got me self another warning......lol

I think it's the truck........either that or the bumper sticker....lol
"The Midnight Flyer" (on the rear window)
"I'm not driving fast......I'm Flying Low"
on the read bumper.
