Post Do you wear your seatbelt?

I saw this mentioned in another thread and thought I'd conduct an informal poll. Twenty years ago I'd bet less than half wore the belt, today I'm thinking 90 - 95 percent? Here in Virginia it's the law.
If everybody owns up to wearing one, maybe that will lead andthensometoo into giving it a try.

I must admit the only time i wear my seatbelt
is when my daughter is in the truck. just for the sake of fairness to her wearing hers. i don't mind the seatbelts in my wifes car but no matter what i do i can not get the
seatbelts to not press tightly against me in the truck and i hate to be confinded that tight, Wrong i know.

Cool

If I don't put mine on I feel as though I'm gonna fall otta' the seat. Raoul: I believe the Feds squeezed all the states to make seatbelt laws. Any out there that don't have them?

I usually do in the car, but usually don't in the truck.

this is a favorite subject of mine. NO i do not wear mine. (unless driving properly prepared race car).15 years ago when they were really pushing the study of safety and seatbelts alot of their info was bias.
when i was younger i managed to be involved in a number of accidents some quite severe. i always walked away uninjured even when i hit a tree at 95 mph.
the officer would then inform me that i could pay a multitude of fines or fill out this nice survey telling how my seatbelt saved my life. when your 17 and the man offers a survey or $2000 in fines guess what you do?
i'm sure some will tell of horrific crashes where body parts were all over the road because they didn't wear a seatbelt. do you really think they would've lived if they had been wearing one?

Front or back, driver's or passenger side, the seat belt goes on. Not because I'm so worried about crashing or what not, it's just a reflex action that's been drilled into my mind. If I got into a car without seat belts I'd probably flip out.

Always. And no one rides with me who won't. I refuse to move forward if they won't buckle up.

Cool

I allways wear mine when I am driving. I feel strange when it is not on. The strange thing is I normally don't wear it when I am a passenger, I kind of feal like I am insulting the driver by putting it on. Also, 99% of the time when I am in a vehicle, I am driving. So, when I am a passenger, I can't figure out how to put on the seat belt. I can only go right, can't go left.

I always have mine on. I never used to. But after the kids start informing you that yours in not on I had to. Also I was in a rollover once ( 4x4'ing offroad) and I was happy I was wearing one. I was also rearended on a snowy day while stopped at a light. My wife hit the windshield. Needless to say we both started wearing one pretty consistantly after that incident.

I am categorized with cphilip, all the time, every time, as well as my passengers.

There is one exception, my mother-in-law, since the passenger side is an ejection seat .......

I was in a bad accident several years back, when some drunk chick pulled out in front of my '63 F100. There weren't any seatbelts AT ALL in that vehicle, the big Mongo steering wheel kept me from going through the windshield. I've used seatbelts religiously ever since. It makes sense AND IT'S THE LAW!
