Thumbs down Just watched Batman Dark Knight this morning

My brief review:

All I can say is That movie definitely does not live up to the hype. I think it was completely horrible. The previous Batman was by far a better movie.

It is my belief the flick was hyped up because of Heath Ledger's OD/possible suicide.

I think you might have seen the weird version that has been going around lately. It's the one for the people that didn't see it at the theater. The version that was at the theater was really good.

I watched it for the first time on Tuesday also and have to disagree. While I think Christian Bale did a pretty bad job at playing the part this time around (couldn't get past the deep, abnormally low vocals he was spuing when he was wearing the mask), I thought Ledger did an awesome job as Joker, and wouldn't be surprised if he won best supporting actor. I liked it a lot better than the first. Althrough I thought they would keep Harvey Dent around as 2 face for another sequel. Oh well. Regardless though, I thought all in all it was pretty good.

I have not seen the last one yet but I don't think any of them have been a "can not miss movie". They have just been OK at best. I am not sure what I was expecting from the series but they all could have been better.

agree 100%

I had that problem with Christian Bale the first time around, and complained a lot (long time batman fan here). He makes his voice, just stupid for the part. Seems like he is trying way to hard to be the "Dark Knight".

However, I think this newer one was beter than "Begins" and thought Heath did an frickin outstanding job (dead or alive, doesn't make a difference to me). If you were a hardcore comic book guy, Heath was the FIRST EVER Joker to stay true to character. By far, the best Joker, best batman villain, ever shown.

It does suck they took out two face so soon. I was hoping they would come back, but the guy who played him, already spoiled that one by saying no chance.

You can't really lump the old garbage Batman movies (Keaton, Kilmer, Clooney) into the same catagory as Batman Begins and Batman: The Dark Knight. Different directors, different story lines and not really the same type of Batman movies. I think the intention of this thread is just comparing the 2 newer ones (Batman Begins and the Dark Knight).

i respectfully disagree

i think there couldnt have been a better joker, he filled his role amazingly.

the plot has many turns in it, and it seems like the movie should be over at several places but it just keeps going on. without ledgers knockout acting it probably wouldnt be a favorite of mine, but the fact that he landed the role so nicely is what keeps me watching.

I think Ledger did a job anyone could have done, dead actor or not, and he didn't do the Joker character justice. Anyone could have played him and done the same. Bale did fine, though it was very hard to understand him at times, but not as good a job as the first.

The main problem I have with the DK is the storyline wasn't played out well at all. The whole movie seemed lost to me.

The fact is, they didn't. We have had at least two other Jokers in the past, and they were, at best, a JOKE ! He was the on who went above and beyond. People say he really dived into this role.

Anyone could have invented the airplane, but they didn't, two brothers did, and they get the credit. Its how it works. He did the job, and did it really good. Pretty bummed he offed himself, would of liked to see that character continue.

I'm gunna guess, you weren't big into the comics, were ya ?

I thought The Dark Knight was pretty darn good. Granted, the plot became a little thick and convoluted, but I believed that it lived up to its hype.

Simple minds tend to wonder and not fully take in what they are seeing. . .

BINGO!
I thought it was a decent movie but way to hyped cuz of the suicide.
And yes I believe he did kill himself, there was nothing accidental about it.
